Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
a. describe the meaning of Probability;
b. record and display the result of probability experiments; and
c. predict possible outcomes base on facts.

outcomes.

I have here a box containing shapes with colors.


5 green, 2 yellow, 2 blue and 1 white.

I will call 10 students to come in front to pick a


shape by random 2 times from the box, and then
record the outcome by completing the table on the
board.

4. Generalization

What is probability again class? The chance that something will happen or
not.

If the probability is 0 what is its interpretation? Impossible, Sir.

What if the probability is 100%? Certain, Sir.

If the probability is 25%? More unlikely, Sir.

What if the probability is 75%? More Likely, Sir.

5. Valuing

Your family planned for a picnic today.

A while ago our weatherman says that the


probability that it will rain today is 75% will you
still go for a picnic? No, Sir!!
Why? Because there is a great chance to rain.

Is it good to go for a picnic on a rainy day? No, sir!

Why? There is a probability to meet accident, we


will not enjoy, and we will get sick.
So what is it then the kind of weather is the best to
go for a picnic? Sunny day, Sir!
IV. Evaluation

A weatherman forecast the chances of rain for the whole week. Write certain, likely, as like
as unlikely, unlikely and impossible to describe the probability of rain for the whole week.

1. Monday, chance of rain is 50%.

2. Tuesday, chance of rain is 85%.

3. Wednesday, chance of rain is 0.

4. Thursday, chance of rain is 35%.

5. Friday, chance of rain is 100%.


V. Assignment

Jenny has a green skirt, an orange skirt, a yellow blouse, a


white blouse, black shoes and tan shoes. Jenny chooses an
outfit to wear at random by spinning the spinners in
6 6 succession.

How many different outfits are possible?
