ACHIEVEMENTS

1. Writer- Participated and Featured in Chuka University Graduation (s) newsletter from
2019 to 2023 through the office of the Vice Chancellor and Public Relations Officer.
Opinion/Columnist writer with the Nation Media Group- I have a series of articles
with the Daily Nation and Taifa Leo under topics that include Gender Based Violence,
FGM, Radio, Youths and Leadership, Marginalized communities, Career Development,
and other top developing and trending topics in the country.
2. Photo/Video Journalist- A lead cameraman in Chuka University corporate events and
activities, with credits in the 2020, 2021 & 2022 university’s graduation ceremonies,
2022 & 2024 Cultural Week, Chuka University 10 th Anniversary celebration, Grand
luncheons, Tree planting/corporate responsibilities conducted by the University both
within and outside the university and also in Chuka University Cultural Week October
2022.

Chuka University Radio (2019-2023)- Student in-charge of the studio/Team Leader, In-
charge of student staffers welfare, Kiswahili Senior News Editor, News Presenter,
Barikiwa Sunday Show Host. Scouted/Recruited/Trained/Mentored talents at Chuka
University Radio since 2019, and some of these talents are today top & celebrated talents
in the mainstream media and other communications and PR entities in Kenya. Been part
of the Auditions and Recruitment panel (2019,2020,2021,2022,2023 & 2024).

Senior News Editor- Had the privilege of editing news at Chuka University Radio News
also as the Senior News Editor and Swahili News Editor. I practiced this role by ensuring
the quality of news produced at Chuka University Radio meets all the news standards and
values, including adhering to the editorial policies that guides news editing and
production, as well as ensuring media laws, ethics and regulations are considered
effectively. I also encouraged members of the team to dig into special reports and features
that are of human interests and those that brand them as top journalist in the profession. I
also presented prime time Swahili News, special reports and news features including
covering high-profile reports and interviews.
4. Communication Strategist/Researcher/Interviewer/Moderator- Participated and
contributed in various research conducted by Chuka University, NGOs, CBOs and several
other humanitarian organizations. Lead researcher in an Anti-FGM research conducted by
Save A Girl Foundation in Narok East, Narok County. Developed a Communication
strategic plan for Enkong’u Entito CBO in doing community mobilization on Gender
Based Violence.
5. Event Organizer/Planner/Coordinator- Lead event coordinator and organizer for
Ewalata Foundation. The General Coordinator/organizer of activities at Entashata CCI
Church including seminars, conferences, crusades, outreach services, Community
Meetups among others. Been part of Chuka University corporate events planning and
organization, including high-profile events such as graduations, cultural weeks,
orientations, conferences, benchmarking and visits, as well as corporate social
responsibilities activities that include environmental protection, medical camps, giving
back to the community among others.

TRAINING & MENTORSHIP

1. Media Council of Kenya (MCK)- Successfully undergone training with the MCK on
Effective and Responsible reporting, Election and Court reporting,
Environmental/Climate Change reporting, Gender Base Violence reporting and currently
a fully registered, trained and accredited media personnel under the MCK.
2. National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC)- Journalists/Stakeholders
Training by NGEC: Promoting Gender Equality and Freedom from Discrimination for
Special Interests Groups, Gender Based Violence, FGM & Role of Men in Protecting &
Empowering Women & Girls (2021 NGEC Celebrations at 10).
3. Zoe Counselling Development & Consultancy- Training on Capacity & Team work
Building under the following topics: Leadership & Counselling skills, Students’ Council
Roles in School Administration, Conflict & Disaster Management and Stress & Time
