10
SERVICE
We believe that our service
activities and programs bring
about greater world
understanding and peace.
Service is a major element of our
mission. Through the plans and
actions of individual clubs, we
create a culture of service
throughout our organization
that provides unparalleled
satisfaction for those who serve.

11
FELLOWSHIP
We believe that individual efforts
focus on individual needs, but
combined efforts serve humanity.
The power of combined efforts
knows no limitation, multiplies
resources, and broadens our lives
and perspectives. Fellowship
leads to tolerance and transcends
racial, national, and other
boundaries.

12
DIVERSITY
We believe Rotary unifies all
people internationally behind the
ideal of service. We encourage
diversity of vocations within our
membership and in our activities
and service work. A club that
reflects its business and
professional community is a club
with a key to its future.

13
INTEGRITY
We are committed to and expect
accountability from our leaders and
fellow members, both in the results of
our efforts and in the processes we use
to accomplish our goals. We adhere to
high ethical and professional standards
in our work and personal relationships.
We are fair and respectful in our
interactions, and we conscientiously
steward the resources entrusted to us.

14
LEADERSHIP
We are a global fellowship of individuals
who are leaders in their fields of
endeavor. We believe in the importance
of leadership development and in
leadership as a quality of our members.
As Rotarians, we are leaders in
implementing our core values.
All of these core values are reflected in
the Object of Rotary and The Four-Way
Test, which we use in our daily lives.
They inspire us to foster and support the
ideal of service for developing and
maintaining integrity in human
relations.

THE BIRTH OF ROTARY
IN THE PHILIPPINES
THE ROTARY CLUB OF MANILA - THE
FIRST CLUB CHARTERED IN THE
PHILIPPINES ON JUNE 1, 1919
WITH 38 CHARTER MEMBERS :
2 FILIPINOS (GABRIEL LAO AND
GREGORIO NIEVA),
1 CHINESE (ALFONSO SYCIP);
35 AMERICANS

His Motivation:

THE NEED FOR

FELLOWSHIP AMONG
BUSINESSMEN IN THE
COUNTRY. LEON LAMBERT
President of Lambert Sales
Company

18
From the first meeting held at the
residence of Mr. Lambert in Pasay on
Jan. 12, 1919, there are now over 800
Rotary Clubs in the Philippines and
members are among the most active
when it comes to serving the Filipino
community and helping those in need.
102 years after, there are now
10 DISTRICTS in
ROTARY PHILIPPINES
(LUZON) DISTRICTS 3770, 3780,
3790,3800, 3810, 3820 AND 3830;
(WESTERN VISAYAS AND WESTERN
MINDANAO) DISTRICT 3850;
(EASTERN VISAYAS AND EASTERN
MINDANAO) DISTRICT 3860; AND
(CENTRAL MINDANAO) DISTRICT 3870.

19
HISTORY OF DISTRICT 3810
District 3810 composed of the cities of Manila
and Pasay; and the provinces of Cavite and
Occidental Mindoro has 115 clubs with 2,937
Rotarians as of the start of this Rotary Year 2021-
2022.

Originally, our district belongs to the biggest

district in the country and in the world, together
with the cities of Makati, Paranaque,
Muntinlupa and Las Pinas, the municipalities of
Taguig and Pateros and the province of Palawan.
By virtue of the approved decision no. 367 of the
Rotary International Board on its 4th meeting in
1997-1998 dated June 1998 at Evanston, Illinois,
U.S.A., the redistricting plan was made together
with the application of RI District 3810 to create
District 3830 for the released cities, towns and a
province.

20
The history of District 3810 is intertwined
with the history of Rotary in the
Philippines. From the founding of the
Rotary Club of Manila that was chartered in
RY 1918-1919, Philippine Rotary clubs kept
on growing and redistricting continues until
District 382 splits into 380 and 382. The city
of Manila’s northern boundary and the
Pasig River was the dividing line.

The combined territories of the present

Districts of 3810, 3820 and 3830 was the
territory of the former District 382 until
June 30, 1985. On July 1, 1985, the
redistricting of 382 took effect and the new
District 381 covered the cities of Manila and
Pasay and the provinces of Cavite, Palawan
and Occidental Mindoro.
