Delta Plastic Inc.

Jose De Costa, director of manufacturing at Delta Plastics, sat at his desk looking at the latest production quality report;
showing the number and type of product defects per week (see the quality report in Delta Plastics, Inc. Case A, Chapter
5). He was faced with the task of evaluating production quality for products made with two different materials. One of
the materials was new and called “super plastic” due to its ability to sustain large temperature changes. The other
material was the standard plastic that had been successfully used by Delta for many years.

The company had started producing products with the new “super plastic” material only a month earlier. Jose suspected
that the new material could result in more defects during the production process than the standard material they had
been using. Jose had been opposed to starting production until R&D had fully completed testing and refining the new
material. However, the CEO of Delta had ordered production despite objections from manufacturing and R&D. Jose
carefully looked at the report in front of him and prepared to analyze the results.

Facts of the Problem:

-Jose De Costa is a Director of a Manufacturing Company at Delta Plastic that design and manufacture plastics.
Producing their product using their “Standard Plastic” has been successfully used for so many years but as of now they
want to produce their product using their new material “Super Plastic “

Knows the Problem

*They use a new material without even testing it first before they franchise or sell it to some customers. That’s why they
are having a trouble because they found out that there are so many defects in their product.

Alternative Solution:

-They should make an action by testing first their new finished product using their new material “Super Plastic” and the
finished product using their old material “Standard Plastic “ so that they can compare it, then find out what’s wrong or
matter in specific. Why many defects occurred.

The solution to the problem:

-They should track mistakes by comparing each finished product using the old and new materials so that they can find
out what’s wrong with each item by comparing it. Also, they can use flow charts by showing the process of the product
so that they can be recognized where the defects occurred during production and find out what product is causing
defects. If it is with the new material product or with the old one. So that next time they can ensure their product is
properly.

Valley Memorial Hospital

-The joint accreditation of Health Care Organizations is currently looking hard at quality when they visit hospitals and
decide whatever accredits them. Valley Memorial Hospital is a service of medical organization. The chief characteristic of
this type of organization is high customer contact. It is considered to be an intangible product.

Main Problem of the Case:

-Liable for a disparate treatment race discrimination in violation of the Vill when they did not promote, Ms. Crew as
one of their employees because it shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employer to fail or refuse to hire or
discharge any individual or otherwise discriminate against any individuals.
Solution to the Problem:

-The quality service, you should first monitor and act on employee's attainment before describing or understand
