    1 Look at this definition of a subordinate clause. Decide which of the underlined words is correct.
    subordinate clause: in grammar, a clause that can / cannot form a sentence alone but adds
    information to the main clause
    Compare your answer with a partner. Do you agree? Check your answer against the definition
    in Session 1.3 of the Learner’s Book.
