Using Vena Excel Templates in 'Basic' Excel

Foundational Workforce Planning - "Input"

Apply your own colors & branding
• Go to 'Page Layout', then 'Themes' to select from other color formats and fonts.
• Go to 'Home', then 'Cell styles' to reformat the appearance and colors of different included cell types.

Compile Employee Lists

• Define the year and period, add all employees you are planning for (existing and new employees).
• Add additional departments to the Department Summary tab, those options will now appear selectable in Input.
• Add additional benefits (e.g. 401K, FUTA, SUTA, etc.) in the assumptions section on the input sheet starting in row 9
• Complete all required columns in the employee input section starting in row 19. The columns required will vary depending on whether a
employee is hourly or salary.

Submit for Approvals

• Leverage the Summary as a validation tool
• Submit the plan to executives for approval

Combine with other Entities / Departments / Cost Centers / Profit Centers

• Aggregate sheets together using Excel logic
• Contact a Vena to learn more about automatically aggregating your labour expenses
