Inquiry Project – Log #1

You will continue your research for your inquiry project. You are responsible for finding a variety of anecdotal
evidence (magazines, journals, websites, etc.) that support your inquiry question. You will need to keep a log
of BOTH your anecdotal evidence and your observational evidence (interaction with your buddy) along
the way. Once you are finished each log, you will post it to your blog.

What do YOU need to do?

1. You need to find TWO more pieces of evidence that support your inquiry question.
 Keep track of your sources – indicate the website, title, publication, etc. for each.
2. You will need to complete a summary of the evidence that you found for EACH source.
 Remember that you cannot simply copy and paste the information. You must summarize and
paraphrase the information into your own words. If there is a particular quote that you want to
use, you need to reference exactly where in the source you got it from and then summarize
what the quote means into your own words.
3. You need to include ONE piece of observational evidence about your buddy.
 Explain what you did with your buddy for each visit, what you observed about your buddy, and
how it relates to your inquiry question.

Visit Summary of Interaction
Creating art
with things from This visit really gave me a good insight into how my buddy acts and behaves. It
nature. showed me how he really loves to be with his friend in the class and how he gets
bored easily but will listen to me and not run off. I got to see what he likes to create
and how he views certain objects. From my observations I have noticed he is quiet
and a calm kid when playing. He has a hard time coming up with ideas but usually
leans toward the same ideas every time. His quite behavior links to my inquiry
question because, since he is a quiet kid and a respectful listener, I believe that will
stay with him. How he is choosing to behave and the behavior I have seen from
him as he plays give me good reason to think he is going to grow up with the same
kind of qualities he has now. How my buddy plays a behaves now is a good look
into how he may grow to behave. It is a good time for him to try new things and
learn from those around him.
