    The rise of the internet has been one of the


    most transformative developments in
    recenthistory, revolutionizing
    communication, commerce. The internet as
    we know it today began to take shape in
    the late 20th century and has since evolved
    intoa vast network connecting billions of
    peopleworldwide. Key milestones in the

    Defense. It linked computers at

    between different networks, leading
    to the formation of the internet's
    backbone.
    World Wide Web

     Tim Berners-Lee's invention of the


    World Wide Web in 1989.
     Introduced the concept of web
    pages accessed viahyperlinks.
     This made information more
    accessible and laid the groundwork
    for the modern internet browsing
    experience.
    Commercialization
     The 1990s saw the commercialization of
    theinternet
     Businesses and individuals creating
    websites and e-commerce platforms.
     This era also witnessed the dot- com
    boom, characterized by rapid growth in
    internet-related companies and
    investments.
    Mobile Internet:
     The widespread adoption of
    broadband internet in the 2000s
    significantly increased internet
    speedsand accessibility.
     Additionally, the riseof
    smartphones and mobile devices
    brought internet connectivity to a
    global audience.

    transforming how people connect and
    share information online. This era also
    saw the concept of Web 2.0,
    emphasizing user-generated content
    and interactivity.

    computing resources. The Internet of
    Things (IoT)has also gained
    prominence, connecting everyday
    devices to the internet for data
    collection

    The internet plays a central rolein

    industries, driving innovations in areas
    such as artificial intelligence, e-
    learning, telemedicine, and more.
