MUSIC CLUB

Part 1
1. How many people are in your family? There are 5 members.
2. What is your hobby? I am keen on listening to music.
3. What did you do last night? I finished my homework.
4. How do you go to work? I often ride my bike to my office.
5. What kind of music do you like? I am a big fan of pop music.
Part 2 : Please tell us about the last time you listened to music . Write in sentences .
Use 20-30 words .
The last time I listened to music was yesterday at 11 p.m. I usually listen to music to let
my hair down and relieve my stress after working a long day. Besides, music can help my
concentration at a high level and put me in a better mood.
Part 3 : You are a member of a music club . You are talking to three other members
in the music club chat room . Talk to them using sentences . Use 30-40 words .
A : Hi ! How often do you listen to music ?
Hi! It’s my pleasure to talk with you. I have listened to music every day since I was
sixteen. I found that I could connect with the singing with a particular emotion in my
head. It’s almost like an addiction of sorts. Music can help me relax after working a long
day.
B : I plan to give my son music lessons but he doesn't like it . What should I do ?
Honestly, I strongly believe that each person has their point of view and we should
respect it. If your son doesn’t like the music lessons, I think you should have an open
conversation with him about his hobbies and then develop and support his interests.
C : Do you agree that music is important in culture?
I totally agree with this opinion. From my perspective, music is an essential and
important element of culture. Each country has ( ITS) culture and typical music. Besides,
music can show the traditional culture of their country. It can bring people together and
help you learn a new language.
Part 4 : Your music club holds a concert in the evening, so the surrounding
residents complain. Please give us some suggestions to solve the above problem.
1. Write to a friend
Hi Hung,
Long time no see. I hope you are well. I am just writing to let you know about the bad
news. Our club has received a lot of complaints from the neighbors who live near our
venue holding a concert in the evening. I felt blue when hearing this news. Can you give
me a hand to resolve this problem? Drop me a line soon,
Best wishes,
Ngoc Trang.
2. Write to the club manager
Dear Sir,
My name is Trang and I have been a member of our music club since April. I am writing
this email to express my feelings and give some suggestions about this news.
Honestly, I feel entirely disappointed about the way you administer our club. The
neighbors, who live adjacent to our concert venue, have been discontented with the noise
of our musical evening.
To make issues better, I will venture some suggestions. One alternative is that you should
rent another venue for the performances. I know a very great spot and good price not far
from here, and it is quite appropriate for our club. Another solution is that you should
consider raising the membership fees to hold concerts in the morning or afternoon, to
avoid affecting the neighbors. Moreover, I think we should hold a face-to-face meeting to
discuss it in more detail. I believe that a lot of members have the same suggestions as
me.
Here are my suggestions, I hope they will be useful for our club.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon,
Yours sincerely,
Vo Thi Ngoc Trang.

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

Part 1: You want to join a photography club. Fill in the form.

1. Where are you from? I am from Vietnam.

2. What’s the weather like today? It’s sunny.

3. What do you do in the free time? I am keen on reading books.

4. Fist language? My first language is Vietnamese.

Part 2: You are a new member of a photography club. Fill in the form. Write in
sentences. Use 20 – 30 words.

What is your favorite time and place to take pictures?

I usually spend my weekend(S) arriving in mountainous areas to take a lot of beautiful

and memorable pictures. Especially, I prefer to visit ( THE) mountains in the spring
because the natural scenery and weather are quite magnificent. Besides, I can enjoy the
fresh air and take a large number of photos ( OF) animals, special plants.
Part 3: You are a member of a photography club. You are talking to three other
members in the photography club chat room. Talk to them using sentences. Use 30 –
40 words.

A: Hi! Welcome to the club. What is your favorite photo?

Hello, glad to talk with you. For me, a picture presenting a beach in ( Ha Long)Bay is the
most deeply impressive photo when having a field trip to ( Quang Ninh) province. The
majestic and fabulous scenery in here took my breath away just by looking at this photo.

B: Hi! What kind of photos do you like to take?

Honestly, I am a big fan of natural beauty so all pictures that I took are of natural scenery.
I usually take photos of beautiful sunrises and sunsets on the sea, majestic waterfalls in
forests, breathtaking mountains, ripe rice fields, and so on. I am keen on going
sightseeing the scenic nature in the world.

C: Is it good to take pictures with the phone?

From my perspective, taking pictures with the phone is convenient for people. The phone
is smaller and easier to carry than a camera so you could take photos or save memorable
moments quickly anytime and anywhere. With modern and high quality phones, you also
have high resolution photos as a camera.

Part 4: You are a member of a photography club. You received this email from the club.

Dear member,

Our club is organizing an exhibition to show people’s best photos. We will have a talk.
Please give some suggestions to attract all ages to join.

Hi Hung,
Long time no see. I hope you are well. Have you read the notice from the photography
club that our club will hold an exhibition to display people’s best photos and we will have

this problem?
Drop me a line soon,
Love,

2. Write an email to the manager of the club. Write about 120 - 150 words

Dear Sir,
My name is Vo Ngoc Trang and I have been a member of our photography club since
April. I am writing this email to express my thoughts and give some suggestions about
this notification.

According to the news, our club will organize an exhibition to display people’s best
photos. Besides, we will have a conversation to find some method ( TO) appeal to all
ages to attend. Honestly, I am very enthusiastic when receiving this email.

From my perspective, I think the plan is so amazing and it is an excellent and intriguing
opportunity to promote our club. To engage all ages' attention, we should post the news
on social networking sites to reach more people. Besides that, we should hold a contest
and have age-appropriate gifts for the winners. For instance, A gaming console for
adolescents, a set of pots for women, or a warm coat for elderly people. If we prepare
carefully and well-organized, the plan will be very successful and it will be a chance to
develop our club.

Here are some suggestions, I hope they will be useful for our upcoming plan.

I am looking forward to hearing you soon,

Yours sincerely,

Vo Ngoc Trang.

PB 2:

Part 4: You are a member of a photography club. You received this email from the club.
Dear member,
Last year, the club held a contest but there was only one category. This year, the club will
be divided into several categories including women, men, and children under 16 years
old.
1. Write an email to your friend. Write about 50 words.
Hi Hung,
I apologize for not replying until the cows come home. I hope you are well. Have you
read the notice from the photography club that our club will hold a contest and will be
divided into several categories including women, men, and children under 16 years old? I
was over the moon when hearing this news. Would you like to attend it?
Drop me a line soon,
Best wishes,
Trang.

2. Write an email to the manager of the club. Write about 120 - 150 words
Dear Sir,

My name is Vo Ngoc Trang and I have been a member of our photography club since
April. I am writing this email to express my thoughts and give some suggestions
regarding your previous email.

According to the email that the club sent me last night, our club will consider organizing
a contest ( THAT) will be partitioned by several groups including women, men, and
children under 16 years old. I am on cloud nine when hearing this notification and
looking forward to it for a long time.

From my perspective, I think it is a reasonable division. This will help correctly evaluate
the champion in each category. Participants are equal in ability. In addition, we could not
compare a picture of a child with an adult due to their dissimilar experiences. The
awareness of each group is different so separating contestants into 3 assemblages is an
utterly great idea. They will be able to express their full potential, easily talk over, and
exchange experiences with each other in their group. I am very excited for the upcoming
contest.

I am looking forward to hearing your response soon.

Yours sincerely,

Vo Ngoc Trang.

SOCIAL CLUB

Part 1: You want to join a social club. Fill in the form.

1. What’s the weather like today? It’s raining cats and dogs.

2. How are you? I am pretty good.

3. What’s your hobby? I am keen on listening to music.

4. How do you get to work? I often ride my car to work.

5. What do you like to do in the evening? I am interested in playing sports.

Part 2: You are a new member of a social club. Fill in the form. Write in sentences.
Use 20 – 30 words.

What do you like to do with friends and where do you go?

We have the same hobbies like swimming, playing games, and so on. Every morning, we
go to the stadium adjacent to my home to do exercise. This is the best way for us to
improve our health and keep fit.

Part 3: You are a member of a social club. You are talking to three other members
in the social club chat room. Talk to them using sentences. Use 30 – 40 words.

A: Where did you meet your friends for the first time and how did you become friends?

Hi! Glad to talk with you. I met my friend on the first day I went to the university. We sat
at the table and talked about the lessons and our interests. We realized that we had the
same hobbies, and then we became best friends.

B: I have just moved to the city and want to make some friends. Can you give me some
advice?

I think you needn’t worry too much, making friends is very easy because everyone is
quite friendly and kind. Firstly, you should go out and talk to your neighbors. Maybe you
can bring some gifts for the first time such as candies, cakes to give them. Then you can
join some social activities adjacent to your home to get to know more people.

C: It is much easier to make new friends these days because of computers and mobile
phones. Do you agree? Why or why not?

I completely agree with this statement because nowadays technology is more and more
developed and modern. These days, people can access and expand their online friends on
social networking sites easily through technological devices such as computers and
mobile phones with one click. But if you want to find a soulmate or best friend, I think it
is quite difficult. Because we cannot clearly know and evaluate their personality just
through a computer or phone screen.

Part 4: You are a member of a social club. You received this email from the club.

Dear members,

We would like to organize some monthly face to face meetings. We would like your
suggestions about when and where we could meet. It suits both young and older people.
Please send us your suggestions and your reasons.

1. Write an email to your friend. Write about your feelings and what you would like to
do. Write about 50 words

I apologize for not replying until the cows come home. I hope you are well. I have just
received an email that our club will hold some monthly face-to-face meetings for young
and older people. I think I will contact the manager to discuss it in more detail. Can you
give me a hand to resolve it?

Drop me a line soon,

Love,

Ngoc Trang.

2. Write an email to the manager of the club. Write about your feelings and what you think
the club should do about the situation. Write about 120 - 150 words.

Dear Sir,

My name is Vo Ngoc Trang and I have been a member of our social club since April. I
am writing this email to express my feelings and give some suggestions about this notice.

According to the news, our club will organize some face-to-face meetings that are
appropriate for both young and older people. Honestly, I was over the moon when
hearing this notification.

From my perspective, it would be great if our club could rent a large venue to hold the
meetings. I know a very great spot and good price in the city center, and it is suitable for
our club. It has a conference room or event center with full equipment and necessary
tools such as a projector, television, and so on. Additionally, Sunday morning or
afternoon will be the most convenient time for both young and older people to
participate. Finally, you can post information on our club’s forum or social networking
sites to appeal to more people and all members can follow and arrange their time to
attend.

I hope my suggestions will be useful for our club.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

ART CLUB
P2: Tell me a painting or a photo that you like
The most deeply impressive photo is a picture of a beach in Ha Long (C )city when having a
field trip to Quang Ninh province. The majestic and fabulous scenery in here took my breath
away just by looking at this photo.
P3:
1. I kept a painting for a long time. Tell me a thing that you have had for a long time.
Hi! Glad to talk with you. Honestly, I have the same painting as you when I was eight. This
painting is about my family members which was created by myself. Up to now, it has been
placed on the table in my bedroom.
1. I would like to learn painting, but I have not still found the effective way. Should I take a
course at my local college? Please, give me some advice.
Yes, I think you should register for a painting course which is for beginners. Because I know
your college is quite good at art and many students who graduated from here will have good
performances in art exhibitions.
1. Street art – where people paint on the building – are becoming popular. However, some
people criticize that it is bad. What is your opinion?
From my perspective, some people view it as a form of vandalism, while others see it as a
legitimate form of artistic expression. Whether or not street art is considered is subjective, it
depends on the context in which it is created. If it is done without permission, people will
criticize them.
P4:
“Dear all members,
The Art Club is organizing a talk to the public to attract more attention. We are going to invite
an artist to give a talk to the members. As a member of our club, could you give us an artist to
join our talk and what topic should they share to gain more attention? Especially, we would like
to have more both young and elderly members.”
1. Write an email to your friend – also a member of the club.

Dear Hung,
Today, a piece of good news has come to me. Did you know that an art club will hold a talk to
the public and invite an artist to fascinate more members? I am over the moon and look forward
to this event. How about you?
Tell me,
Love,
Trang.

1. Write an email to the organizer of plan.

Dear Sir,
My name is Vo Ngoc Trang and I have been a member of our Art club since April. I am writing
this email to express my feelings and give some suggestions about this notification.
According to the news, our club is planning to organize a public talk with an artist to captivate
more participants. Honestly, I was on cloud nine when receiving this announcement.
To make issues better, I will venture some suggestions. Firstly, I think we should invite an
eminent artist who has influenced the young generation and elderly people. In terms of a well-
known artist, I would recommend that we invite Mrs.Cathy who is a talent inspirer. I strongly
believe that the audience will pay attention to her appearance. Moreover, our club should post
the notice on the club’s forum or social networking sites such as Facebook, ( AND)Instagram to
announce it to our members and to captivate more participants. Finally, I would suggest we have
a meeting to discuss it in more detail.
Here are some of my suggestions. I hope it will be of help. I look forward to your prompt reply.
Best regards,
Vo Ngoc Trang.

the dumps when hearing this notice. Can you give me a hand to resolve it? Drop me a line soon,
Love,
Trang.

2.Write an email to the manager of the club. Write about 120-150 words

Dear Sir,

My name is Vo Ngoc Trang and I have been a member of our technology club since April. I am
writing this email to express my feelings and give some suggestions about this notification.
According to the news, our club’s website has a serious problem with some member’s negative
comments. Honestly, I think it can affect the reputation of our club and I felt very disappointed
when receiving this email.

To make issues better, I will venture some suggestions. One alternative is that we should add a
function to limit negative comments on the website. Besides that, I think we could choose some
prestigious members as admin(S) for our club’s social networking site to censor every post.
Moreover, I think anyone who has complaints about the club or other members should discuss it
directly with the manager. They should avoid making pessimistic comments in public.
Contacting the manager and figuring out the solution to resolve the problem is an utterly good
alternative.

Here are my suggestions, I hope they will be useful for our club.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon,

Yours sincerely,

Vo Ngoc Trang.

2. Write to the club manager about the importance of technology and why you should be selected
(120 words)

Dear Sir,
My name is Vo Ngoc Trang and I have been a member of our technology club since April. I am
writing this email to express my feelings and opinions about the new notice.
According to the news, our club wants to recruit a volunteer for the upcoming technology fair.
As soon as I heard this notice, I felt very excited and wanted to sign up.
Without a doubt, technology is an entirely essential and important element of our daily life. You
know that technology has contributed to changing the way we live and made the world more
cooperative and connected. For instance, you can talk to someone who is far away from you
through smartphones or modern technologies and health applications help improve health care
and prevent disease. So we cannot live without technology.
Honestly, organizing a technology fair is the most intriguing and excellent opportunity for our
club to connect with other clubs and promote our products. If you are looking for a volunteer for
this event. I think I can meet your requirements. Because I am an active and motivated person,
and a good communicator. Besides that, I had experience participating in the same event last
year.
I hope you ( CAN) consider my possibilities.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon,
Yours sincerely,
Vo Ngoc Trang.

COMPUTER CLUB
Part 2: When and where do you use a computer?
I usually use my computer to study online at home from 7 p.m to 9 p.m. Besides that, I
can let my hair down with games, listen to music, and watch movies after a stressful day.
Part 3:
Q1: My grandmother doesn’t know how to use the computer. Your solutions
I think computers have many complicated functions. Firstly, you should teach your
grandma basic computer skills such as how to use the mouse and open the computer.
Afterward, you can help her sign up for a computer course for the elderly.
Q2: The last time you used your computer. Your purpose.
The last time I used my computer was last night. I learned English skills and prepared
some references for the upcoming exam. After completing the assignment, I used it to
entertain myself with music and games.
Q3: Nowadays people use computers a lot. This is not good. Your opinion.
It cannot be denied that the computer is one of the essential parts of our life and makes
life easier and more convenient but humans seem to be overly dependent on them. They
tend to lead a sedentary lifestyle, gradually lack social skills and become less physically
outside.
Q3.1: Nowadays children use computers a lot. This is not good. Your opinion.
Part 4: The club has a plan to adjust our website in order to attract more members.
Your feelings and suggestions
Q1:
Hi Hung,
I apologize for not replying until the cows come home. I hope you are well. Our
computer club has a plan to adjust our website in order to captivate more members. This
is a great idea and I cannot wait for it. Can you give me a hand to find the best solution?
Tell me soon.
Love,
Ngoc Trang.
Q2:

Dear Sir,

My name is Vo Ngoc Trang and I have been a member of our computer club since April.
I have composed this email to articulate my feelings and thoughts in connection with the
recent notification from the club.

According to the news, our club will consider altering the website to appeal to more
member’s attention.

From my perspective, I think this plan is an entirely great development step for our club’s
promotion. To make progress faster and more successfully, we should hire professional
web programmers to upgrade our social networking sites because they have a lot of
experience in this field and can do the task effectively. Additionally, we should survey to
find out what people need from a website, and then make changes to meet the demand for
the users. Finally, we should hold a face-to-face meeting so that all members can give
their voice to make this issue better. If we prepare carefully and well-organized, the plan
will be successful and it is the chance for our club to develop.

Here are my suggestions, I hope they will be useful for our upcoming plan.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Vo Ngoc Trang.

HOME LIVING CLUB

Part 2: Describe where you live (20-30 words)
I was born and raised in a boisterous city - HCM City. It is an important economic source
for our country and an attractive tourist destination with many diverse cultures from all
over the world.
Part 3:
A: You have to stay in the bedroom but have to share with your brother. How do you
feel?
Hi! Glad to talk with you. I think sharing my bedroom with my brother is an utterly good
idea. I am over the moon and feel very excited because it makes our relationship get
closer and closer. We can play and talk together all day and night.
B: It is better to live in the city or in the countryside. Do you agree? Why?
I am an enthusiastic and active person, so I think it is better to live in the city than live in
a peaceful place like the countryside. Because the city can provide practically everything
you desire and meets all your demands. You can have more job opportunities and a lot of
places to entertain.
C: Nowadays, old buildings are demolished and replaced with modern buildings. I feel
we should protect historic buildings. What do you think?
From my point of view, I think it is important to keep old buildings rather than replace
them with modern buildings. So we should preserve and maintain it because old buildings
are indispensable cultural relics.
Part 4
Currently, there are many young families who want to buy a house or an apartment. The
club wants the members to make suggestions to help them find homes.
1. Write to a friend (50 words)
Hi Hung,
I apologize for not replying until the cows come home. I hope you are fine. I just heard
the news from our home living club that we should give some alternatives to help many
young families find a house or an apartment. I feel very excited and cannot wait for this
upcoming plan. Can you give me a hand to find the solution?
Drop me a line soon,
Love,
Trang.

2. Write to the manager of the club (120 words)

Dear sir,
My name is Vo Ngoc Trang and I have been a member of our home living club since
April. I have composed this email to articulate my feelings and thoughts in connection
with the recent notification from our club.
According to the news, many young families want to buy a house or an apartment. The
club wants the members to make suggestions to help them find homes. Honestly, I was
on the top of the world when hearing this notice.
From my perspective, I think we should survey to find out what kind of house or
apartment they want to buy. For instance, they want the house to be in a crowded or
sparse area, or live in old or modern buildings. If we know more about the type of house
they desire, it will be easier for us to find and give them advice. Besides that, we should
hold a face-to-face meeting to discuss this problem in more detail. If we give advice well,
they will have good feedback about our club and thereby help our club's reputation grow
further.
Here are my suggestions, I hope they will be useful for our club.
I am looking forward to hearing your response soon.
Yours faithfully,
Vo Ngoc Trang.
