1. Task 1: Summarize and criticize 5 articles (10%)
Summary: teaching context, methodology, results, discussions, critical response (how it could
be applied in your context – any issues with research design or results)

2. Task 2 – Evaluation of teaching activity

Micro teaching and evaluation (50% of the course grade)


This assignment requires you to select two of members of the class or which you have seen on
video available to everyone in the class.
Task: For each of the two teaching episodes,

• write a full description and reasons why you chose the lesson (250-350 words)
• write an analysis of the learning that (would have) happened (250-350 words)
• write an analysis of teachers’ use of technology. (250-350 words)
• suggest research-informed improvements and/or write a research-informed reflection (350-
500 words)

The questions below may be useful to stimulate reflection.

• What was the focus of the lesson?


• Who were the intended learners?
• What resources were used? (describe or attach if appropriate)
• What activities were included?
• How was the pace of the lesson?
• Were the instructions clear?
• Were the resources appropriate?
• How did teachers use technology?
• Did the teacher employ the right technology for the lesson?
• How did/would the activities facilitate new learning?
• Did/would the intended learning take place, and how do you know?
• What would you modify next time you taught this lesson? or
• What suggestions would you make to the teacher of the lesson?

Remember to write this in an academic style, and follow the APA referencing conventions.
Your work will be checked against Turnitin's database (this may take several hours) the report
and score will be made available to you to enable you to use it as formative feedback.
