ACTIVITY DESIGN

I. General Information:

Title : Project GEE - Goal for Ecological Effort


(CLEAN UP DRIVE – Save the Community)

Time Covered : March, 2022

Venue : Poblacion Matanao Davao del Sur

II. Rationale:

The growing number of ecological problems in the modern world call for a more
effective and efficient ecological education.

In view of the increasing global concerns for environmental actions against


threats to mother earth and the consequent need to consolidate all efforts in
safeguarding, protecting and conserving the environment, and pursuant to DepEd
Order No. 72, s. 2003 on the Establishment of Youth for Environment in Schools
Organization (YES-O), the Department of Education (DepEd), in partnership with the
Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has announced the
Thrusts and Activities of the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O).

A way of addressing these issues is an action coming from rock bottom.


Matanao Central Elementary School initiates a rock bottom project called Project GEE
– Goal for Ecological Effort (Clean up Drive - Save the Community). A school clean-up
drive that opens awareness and promote ecological balance within the community. A
program partnered with the locals, GSP, BFP and MENRO.
III. Objectives:

Project GEE aims to:

 Clean open water ways surrounding Matanao Central Elementary School


 Eradicate breeding grounds for mosquitoes
 Reduce foul smell in the surroundings
 Serve as a good example to the community

IV. Methodology:
 Open canals shall be regularly cleaned for the water to flow freely.
 Remove all garbages to prevent blockage of the passage way
 Have the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) spray pressurized water to remove
silted sand and soil
 Garbage truck shall be ready for easy transportation of the collected garbage
 Posters “BAWAL MAG TAPON NG BASURA DITO” shall be posted near the open
canal

VII. Socio-Economic Justification

The program will give opportunity to students, teachers, and the entire
community to actively participate in achieving the DepEd programs anchored in the
Sustainable Development Goals and the Ambisyon Natin 2040. This will also
contribute to the well—being of students, teachers, external partners most
environment. It will also link to harmonious partnership to different agencies for the
success of all programs.

VI. Sustainability

DepEd, through the Youth Formation Program, continually supports ground for
good governance, volunteerism, unity and cooperation by providing our youth various
venues where they can improve their leadership knowledge, skills and attitudes. It
will also help to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and the Ambisyon Natin
2040.
