MRK 550 BUSINESS OPERATIONS I

Course Description:

This course is designed to provide the student with a detailed up to date view of the activities of
the operations function. Operations management is dynamic and is an integral part of progressive
business organizations. Operations management has an overwhelming effect on the productivity of the
manufacturing sector as well as the service sector. The objective of this course is to present an
introduction to the field of operations in a realistic and practical format. The topics represent a
blend of concepts from engineering, accounting, marketing, management and statistics.

or current issues. Students will work on a variety of team and/or
individual Operations Management scenarios and assignments to

demonstrate their ability to apply these concepts to a variety of
potential business situations.
