Practical English Midterm Speaking Test Study Guide

“Meeting professionals at a conference.”

Testing time: 8 – 10 minutes for 2 students / 10 – 12 minutes for 3 students

Part 1: Introductions (1 – 2 minutes).

Introduce yourself with your… Ask questions if your partner doesn’t tell you:

● Avoid short answers!
● Tell me about your company’s history. ● Make conversation! (Do not interview!)
● What has your company done recently? ● Use adjectives, especially when talking about
● How was business last month? products, services, and features.

● Has your company performed well lately? score will be lower! Keep talking until I say
