HOME TO ACTIVE THINKING,

AND INNOVATIONS
THAT MAKE SENSE

Sintex Plastics Division was established in the year 1975, and today we
have the most diversified manufacturing capabilities in plastic processing
in the world.

At Sintex, we use our thinking to design products that let the world live a
practical life. Our left-brain works overtime to create products that are
simple, low on maintenance and long-lasting. When the world uses
Sintex, it works for life.

Our products are designed to deliver simplicity. We put substance before

style. It is the most sensible thing to do. It has been derived very much
from the same left-brain that tells us to think twice before doing anything
and to not let emotions come in the way of a perfect solution.
For more than 8 decades, we have been helping our clients, industries and societies prosper.
We’ve been leading the way in Plastics are present across major Asian, European, American,
and African markets, in 9 countries including France, Germany, and USA.

Led by the highly motivated and experienced leadership team, the Sintex group’s capabilities are
explored through an innovation driver approach which makes us successful in all the segments
where we operate.

BECAUSE WE DON’T JUST MAKE PRODUCTS.

WE MAKE SENSE.

WATER CRISIS IN INDIA

Freshwater represents only 2.5% of the water available on the planet and India is
the biggest consumer of freshwater in the world today, accounting for about 750
billion cubic meters annually.

With the rapid increase in the population, the acceleration of urbanization and
global warming, this resource is becoming scarce.

According to The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) by 2030, India’s water
demand is expected to rise to 1.5 trillion cubic meters; as most homes use
potable (drinkable) water for practically everything in the house and garden.

It is now a major environmental, social, and economic challenge for cities and
industry. Reusing wastewater is one of the solutions capable of meeting this
challenge.
WASTEWATER RECYCLING
A MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR OPPORTUNITY FOR INDIA
TO AVOID THE IMPENDING WATER CRISIS

Reclaimed or recycled water is the process of converting wastewater into water that can
be reused for other purposes.

Reuse may include irrigation of gardens and agricultural fields or replenishing surface
water and groundwater (i.e. groundwater recharge). Reused water may also be directed
toward fulfilling certain needs in residences (e.g. toilet flushing), businesses, and
industry, and could even be treated to reach drinking water standards.
Wastewater treatment is fundamental to protect the health of many different
ecosystems. As solid material decomposes, it uses up oxygen, which is needed by the
plants and animals living in the water. It is among the bigger contributors to the water
borne diseases.

AT SINTEX, WE BELIEVE WATER IS TOO PRECIOUS TO BE USED JUST ONCE. WE’RE HERE TO BRING
WASTEWATER BACK INTO NATURAL WATER SOURCES WHICH CAN HAVE BENEFITS TO ECOSYSTEMS,
IMPROVING STREAMFLOW, NOURISHING PLANT LIFE AND RECHARGING AQUIFERS, AS PART OF THE
NATURAL WATER CYCLE
ADVANTAGES OF REUSE

• Reduce water bills

• Use fewer water resources
• Irrigate the garden during drought or water restrictions
• Cut down the amount of pollution going into waterways
• Help save money on new infrastructure for water supplies and
wastewater treatment
• Decrease demand on infrastructure for sewage transport, treatment
and disposal, allowing it to work better and last longer
ADVANTAGES FOR INDUSTRIES

• Reduce bulk water consumption = lower per-litre cost of water

• Improve compliance with environmental regulations
• Harvest valuable minerals from wastewater for secondary revenue streams
• Work towards Zero Liquid Discharge!

• MILD STEEL WITH FRP COATING
• Moving Bed Bio Reactor (MBBR)
• Double Walled Corrugated Polyethylene • Fluidized Aerobic Bioreactor (FAB)

• FIBER – REINFORCED PLASTIC- FRP

SINTEX IS WORKING ON
ZOHKASU TECHNOLOGY
SIMILAR TO MBBR
TECHNOLOGY

This technology is essentially the same as activated

sludge except that the media suspended in the
reactor offers additional surfaces for the microbes to
grow and this in turn maximizes the growth of
microbes in a given volume of aeration tank MBBR-MEDIA,SPECIAL

compared to the conventional aeration without the
media and to that extent, it is preferable.
SINTEX PACKAGE STPs

Sintex PSTP (Packaged Sewage Treatment Plant) is a FRP

prefabricated modular type Sewage Treatment Plant designed
to be placed either above or below the ground.

Sintex STPs recycles the Sewage Waste Water into Usable

Water which meets the Pollution Control Board’s parameters.

The treated water can be used for gardening / landscaping /

irrigation etc.; and when used along with TTP (tertiary
treatment plant) can also be used for Toilet Flushing and
cleaning purposes as well.

PSTPs– Operational Principle
Sintex Packaged STPs Advantages/USPs

• Zero foot print: Our STPs are sub ground structures occupying almost no space on the ground other than
small pump room at convenient location. Beautification above it on the ground adds to the pleasant views or
even the space can be used for driveway. On ground alternates are occupying useful space and an eyesore to
the occupants.

• Lead time: The system is composed of pre-fabricated components optimizing packaging, transportation and
installation. The complete system can be installed within few days in comparison to its other alternates which
might take months. Ours is really Ready to Go…
Sintex Packaged STPs Advantages/USPs

• Life long/ Durability : FRP based material that is durable and lightweight, combined with technology requiring little intervention in
terms of maintenance provides the system with a longer life span about 50 years. Rustproof, leak-proof, No fungal growth etc

• Fit it forget it : Easy Operation at less cost: The system works on gravity requiring less pumping, auto mode working of pumps and the
sludge removal intervals are as high as 2 years making it less prone to maintenance Vs low as 2 months in other
conventional option. Also no special skills are required to operate the system.

• It dose not require any skilled supervision while it is required in other cases.
Sintex Packaged STPs Advantages/USPs

Sewage STP TTP
• Process: Dual filtration using aerobic and anaerobic water treatment process helps in achieving required
level of output in terms of BOD, COD, STT etc.

• Consistent output efficiency Vs seasonal variation on account of temperatures variations.

• Decentralized: It is a better investment in terms of energy consumption and efficiency when compared to a
centralized wastewater treatment.

• Also it consumes almost 60% less energy as it works on gravity flow requiring min pumping.
Sintex Packaged STPs Advantages/USPs

• Relocation: The option of relocation is available with Sintex STPs unlike other alternates.

• Upgrade: Possible in case of Sintex no such scope in alternate method.

• Odorless: Sub ground structure makes it less prone to odor, occupant friendly.

• Compact and simple to operate.

• No Noise.

• High quality effluent, increased Solid retention Time (SRT), Low sludge volumes.

• All-in-one packaged sewage treatment plant
