3 A student carried out an experiment to investigate fermentation. Yeast suspension and
glucose solution were mixed in a measuring cylinder. The volume of the mixture at the top
level of the froth was measured at 5 minute intervals for 30 minutes. The results are shown in
Table 3.1.
