14 Reasons You Should Never Agree

To Present First Thing In The

Morning, After Hanging Out At An
Open Bar With Paul Hoffman
14 Fucking Awesome Ad Hooks
You Can Run In Any Market

(And How To Use AI To Write Infinite

Variations Of Them)
Hooks were ALWAYS important.

Even MORE so now, where people have endless content options.

The hooks we’re going to talk about today were pulled off of Youtube.

Why Youtube? Because that’s where I consistently see the strongest creatives.

It’s a super competitive, interruption-marketing environment where everyone is

competing for attention.

However, these hooks can easily be adjusted for Facebook, email, VSLs, etc.

In fact, the gap is closing FAST between “ads”, “content” and “sales messages.”

You see more and more brands using weird scroll stopping shit in their actual
VSL leads. And it makes sense. Whatever gets attention.
There’s Two Kinds Of Attention
Targeted Attention

Talking specifically to your market. The exact people you want to attract.
Ideal customers.

Collateral Attention

Mass appeal. General human interest. Passing curiosity. The impossible to

ignore story.
GOOD ads generate targeted attention.

GREAT ads generate both.

They speak at their core market FIRST. But make the ad interesting
enough to where even less than ideal prospects are still sucked in.
What Is A Youtube Hook?

A YouTube ad hook refers to the initial few seconds of a YouTube advertisement.

Its purpose is to swiftly capture the viewer's attention, enticing them to either
watch the full ad or engage with it before they select the "SKIP AD" option.

Given that users can typically skip ads after just 5 seconds on YouTube, these
precious moments are vital for advertisers to captivate your target audience.

Ultimately, the ad's success often relies on the strength of this initial hook. It’s the
make or break moment.

A compelling YouTube ad hook should accomplish two objectives:

#1: Capture Immediate Attention: Whether through captivating visuals or

intriguing spoken content, if the ad fails to grip the viewer right off the bat, they'll
likely skip it.

#2: Relevant to the Target Audience: Nobody wants to watch your ads. So your
ads need to feel PAINFUL to ignore. Simply put, you need to imply that watching
your ad will make your prospect’s life BETTER in some meaningful way. And
skipping your ad will make their life WORSE.
Two Ways Of Calling Out To Your Prospect:
Direct And Indirect

Here are two examples from the dating niche to help better understand
direct and indirect callouts:

Direct Callout Hook Example: “So you like a girl and want to go on a date with
her. But the only problem is when you try to text her, she takes forever to respond
or worse.”

>> This directly addresses those facing this specific situation, without adding any
complexities.

Indirect Callout Example: “Online dating never worked for me, at first I thought
maybe i'm just too f***in ugly, but then somehow over the last year…”

>> This is indirect because it expresses a sentiment many can relate to, without
directly asking, "Do you feel online dating isn't working for you?" It subtly
connects with viewers who have harbored similar thoughts.

In essence, direct and indirect callouts are the two main strategies you'll observe
in YouTube ads. These techniques encapsulate the primary methods of engaging
potential customers on the platform.

14 High-Performing YouTube Ad
Hooks:
These hooks work for 90-95% of YouTube ads. It's rare to find an ad that doesn't
fall into one of these hooks. They are the foundation of effective ads.
These following hooks are battle-tested, they have been tried and proven to work
time and time again.

They're versatile too—they can be adapted to fit any niche or product.

Again, the magic often lies in the first few seconds of your ad. You can get
transformative results just by tweaking the beginning of your video ads. The core
message of the ad remains the same; only the initial seconds/hook change. And
that can make all the difference.

- Hook #1 -

The Proof or “Let Me Show You How” Hook

Hook Brief Intro:

This is a basic and prevalent type of hook, especially evident in the "make money
online" niche. It's effective for claims promising substantial results to prospects.

Hook Goal/Purpose:
The primary aim of this hook is to present proof that you can solve your
audience's problems. This proof can manifest as customer or student success
stories or personal, company, or guru success stories. Using customer success
on top of personal success usually yields better results.

If you lack customer proof, you can begin with personal proof, or borrow proof
from other businesses' publicly published results or reference established/proven
facts.

For example, to use proof from outside sources, we say "70% of youtube
searches start with how to...". Trying to show people that YouTube is a great
source of traffic because you can harness the power of intent targeting.

Student/Customer Success Stories Proof Examples:

Show proof that your other customers are satisfied and have achieved great
results using your products or services to pique their interest.

If you have good student stories to share, the student story hook can work great,
especially if your own story isn't that relatable. Sharing the story of a student or of
several students can help more and more potential customers relate to what you
are trying to help them with!

Example #1: Biz Op Niche

This is Gianna she paid off all her student debt by making YouTube videos here's
how she did it…

Explanation: This is for a brand called Jump Cut, and they are talking about the

He just made his first thousand dollars.

He's just 26 years old he's been working the job for a while minimum wage and
he took action…

Explanation: Indicating a young man's success after taking action with the
mentioned program.

Example #3: Youtube Influencer:

Hi my name is kong and I have helped many ordinary people turn their hobbies
into a career on youtube…

For example this is one of my students…

He used to work at a local coffee shop making coffee for people then he took his
passion for music production and created a youtube channel where he makes
music tutorials without even showing his face.
Explanation: Highlighting a student's transition from a coffee shop job to a
successful YouTube career.

Personal/Company/Guru Success Stories Proof Examples:

customers with their goals by showing awards or certifications they have
achieved.

installed to hold 2000 new books that I bought.

Example #5: YouTube Advertising Niche:

Additional Insights:

If possible, addressing objections within this hook can enhance its effectiveness.

quotes under them, text messages) can significantly boost the impact of this
hook type.

[END OF EXAMPLE HOOKS]

Now, I want you to adapt those YouTube ad hooks for the following market. Please stick
to the structure and underlying psychological principles. (For example, do not include
any strange greetings).

one should be able to recognize that it was taken from the previous YouTube ad hooks).

Please DO NOT make the NEW hooks longer or shorter than the provided example
hooks above.

Here are the market details:

their body, feeling “lost” like they no longer recognize themselves, afraid of future health
issues caused by their weight, feeling like a burden on their children and grandchildren,
feeling like life is passing them by

Be direct. Write in an appropriate tone for our target market (Write how a typical
member of our target market would ACTUALLY talk in casual conversation while out at
lunch with a close friend).
IMPORTANT: Write using simple, conversational language. At a 3rd grade reading level.
Short, punchy, easy to read sentences and action oriented. Short paragraphs. Limit
words with more than 3 syllables.
Write using active, visual, action-oriented words. Limit/avoid passive constructions.
Be VIVID, DESCRIPTIVE, VISCERAL, VISUAL and ULTRA-SPECIFIC when describing

Anything less is a failure.
Optimize each sentence for maximum emotional impact.
Include vivid, specific details that create a strong emotional connection.

you to focus on generating the most compelling YouTube ad hooks possible. Without
worrying about what comes next.

unusual, a “pattern interrupt” from what our prospects expect to see tend to work best.

- Hook #3 -

The Simple Mistake

Hook Brief Introduction:

Discussing common mistakes made by prospects in a market not only reflects an
insider's understanding of the industry, but it also grabs the attention of those who may
unknowingly be making these errors. When positioned as a hook, it can be an impactful
way to lead into an opportunity, solution, or product that addresses the mistake. It subtly
infers "We know better, and we can show you how."

The goal: Talk about a common mistake that you see prospects in your industry
making. This type of hook is very effective if you're using ad copy that is centered
around a new opportunity.

The power of these hooks lies in its ability to resonate with a specific pain point or
typical mistake in the target market, and then quickly offer an appealing solution or
opportunity.

Example #1: Online marketing:

You know the number one mistake I see entrepreneurs make is the fact that you're not
using advertisements like this to get more customers, they're so simple…”
Explanation: Billy Gene identified the number one mistake that advertisers in his
industry tend to make, and the rest of the advertisement demonstrates how to avoid this
mistake and highlights the advantages of not making it again.

Example #2: Fitness niche:

The biggest blunder I see most people make is focusing solely on cardio and completely
neglecting strength training. Don't get trapped…

Example #3: Financial Advisory Niche:

The most frequent mistake I always see young investors make is pouring their savings
into volatile stocks without a diversified portfolio. To protect your financial future…

Example #4: Digital Marketing Niche

A consistent oversight I spot is businesses pouring all their budget into paid advertising,
neglecting organic SEO. Why pay for every click when you can rank naturally?

- Hook #4 -

The Contrarian Approach

Hook Brief Intro:
This is a popular hook often seen in longer form “teaching style ads”. It challenges the
existing beliefs and introduces a fresh perspective.

Hook Goal/Purpose:
The primary goal of this hook is to compare the traditional approach (old way) to a more
effective or unique method (new way) that the advertiser promotes. By shedding light on
a prevalent mistake or outdated way of thinking, you pave the way for presenting your
novel solution.

Example #1: Online Marketing Niche:

There's a gazillion different entrepreneurs or gurus who will say - click this button and I'll
make you so much money blah blah blah…

Well shut the hell up, the reason why you haven't been able to make money is because
you're focused on the WRONG thing…

Your entire existence has been about MONEY.”

Explanation: Billy Gene challenges the old notion that making money should be the
central focus and introduces the new idea of solving problems to achieve financial
success.

Example #2: Music Education Niche:

There are a million ways to learn guitar online... but you have to start with something
more important first…

Explanation: The speaker emphasizes the plethora of traditional methods available

and then hints at a novel approach they're about to introduce.

Example #3: Online Business Niche:

Some people recruit mlm... some sell gadgets on facebook econ... some like to play
with google too seo or blogging…we don't do any of that anymore…

Explanation: This ad lists the old popular ways of making money online and then hints
at introducing a newer, presumably better way.

Example #4: Online Advertising Niche:

Facebook Ads used to be the best way to generate leads and sales in a business, but
now, it’s oversaturated and underperforming.
Explanation: The old way is using Facebook Ads, while the new way emphasizes the
benefits of YouTube ads.

Example #5: Software Niche:

approach and presents the software as a modern solution.

Example #6: Personal Development Niche:

and introduces a fresh perspective on training.

Example #7: Business Strategy Niche:

contrarian advice here grabs attention.

Example #8: Real Estate Niche:

Cold calling and door knocking is an amazing way to grow your real estate business if it
was still 1987.

Explanation: The statement challenges real estate agents' traditional methods, hinting
at more modern, effective methods.

Additional Insights:
These hooks are powerful because they defy established norms and beliefs, instantly
grabbing the attention of the audience. They set the stage for the advertiser to introduce
their product or service as the novel solution to the audience's pain points.

PROMPT:
Today, you’re a world-class direct response copywriter and YouTube advertising
expert who specializes in writing ultra-compelling, attention-grabbing, and
high-curiosity provoking YouTube ads.
You are an absolute master at grabbing and holding the interest of complete
strangers. And creating interest and desire for the products and services you’re
tasked with promoting.

The most important part of the Youtube ad is the "Hook." That refers to the
opening of the video ad. Specifically the first 6 seconds. Because that's the
time where the audience decides whether to watch the ad or skip the ad.
So the first 6 seconds needs to be especially compelling. It needs to create
massive curiosity and desire, so members of our target market want to
continue watching the ad.

Today, you’re going to write a Youtube ad hook called The Contrarian Approach

The Contrarian Approach

Hook Brief Intro:
This is a popular hook often seen in longer form “teaching style ads”. It challenges the
existing beliefs and introduces a fresh perspective.

Hook Goal/Purpose:
The primary goal of this hook is to compare the traditional approach (old way) to a more
effective or unique method (new way) that the advertiser promotes. By shedding light on
a prevalent mistake or outdated way of thinking, you pave the way for presenting your
novel solution.

Here are some examples of successful ads that leverage this hook in different niches:

[End Of Example Hooks]

Now, I want you to adapt those YouTube ad hooks for the following market. Please stick
to the structure and underlying psychological principles. (For example, do not include
any strange greetings).

However, ensure that you adapt any promises so that the new hooks makes sense. (No
one should be able to recognize that it was taken from the previous YouTube ad hooks).

Please DO NOT make the NEW hooks longer or shorter than the provided example
hooks above.

Here are the market details:

[Target Market]= overweight women over 45

[Problem] = menopausal weight gain
[Emotional Impact Of Problem] = lack of confidence, feeling undesirable, ashamed of
their body, feeling “lost” like they no longer recognize themselves, afraid of future health
issues caused by their weight, feeling like a burden on their children and grandchildren,
feeling like life is passing them by
[Primary Promise] = release your stubborn fat in a safe and healthy way
[Unique Solution]= The Metabolic Reset
[Credible Proof] = developed by female metabolism expert Andrew Hanoun, a functional
diagnostic nutrition practitioner
[Social Proof] = helped thousands of women achieve lasting weightloss without
restrictive dieting or extreme exercise

Julie, a 64 year old grandma of 6, dropped 37 pounds in 12 weeks.

Penny, age 66, was able to effortlessly regain control of her weight after 40 years of
failed dieting.

Karen, 58, was able to reach and maintain her ideal weight. Even after having her
thyroid removed.

[Common But Disliked Solutions] = restrictive diets like keto, demanding exercise
routines, shady weight loss supplements, dangerous medications like Ozempic

Guidelines:

Be direct. Write in an appropriate tone for our target market (Write how a typical
member of our target market would ACTUALLY talk in casual conversation while out at
lunch with a close friend with zero fear of judgment).
Be VIVID, DESCRIPTIVE, VISCERAL, VISUAL and ULTRA-SPECIFIC when describing
benefits. Do not mention anything vague.
Our prospects should be able to see, feel, and experience the situation you’re
describing… as if it’s really happening right now. It needs to impact them emotionally.
Anything less is a failure.
Optimize each sentence for maximum emotional impact.
Include vivid, specific details that create a strong emotional connection.
Ensure the tone is relatable and speaks directly to the audience's experiences and
feelings.

MOST IMPORTANT: Do NOT artificially try to “complete” the hook. I’m going to attach
this hook to the rest of the email. And it will all make sense. So for now, I JUST want
you to focus on generating the most compelling YouTube ad hooks possible. Without
worrying about what comes next.

Write me 20 new variations of Youtube ad hooks for my market, following the principles
above. Remember, these hooks are designed to drive maximum engagement from our
target prospects. If 100 of our ideal prospects watch the first 5 seconds of our video, at
least 99 of them should want to CONTINUE watching the video. Anything less is
considered a failure.

Remember to explore the EMOTIONAL impact of how this problem/solution impacts our
prospects in their daily lives. Be specific and visceral.

Be wildly creative with these different ad hooks. Remember, we need

maximum curiosity.

Also, since these are VIDEO ADS, please include suggested VISUALS to accompany
these hooks. These visuals needs to grab attention immediately. Things that are weird,
unusual, a “pattern interrupt” from what our prospects expect to see tend to work best.

- Hook #5 -

The Visualization Hook

Hook Brief Intro:
This hook draws prospects in by getting them to visualize a specific result or outcome,
linking a desired goal to something simple and visual.

Hook Goal/Purpose:
The objective of the Visualization Hook is to initiate with a visually captivating element,
often a tangible object or a relatable scenario, and then transition to explain its
connection to a more intricate subject. By starting with a basic visual element, the
content's complexity becomes more digestible. This approach mirrors teaching methods
where learners begin with simple concepts and progressively delve into complex ones.
Furthermore, this hook encourages the audience to imagine brighter prospects and
outcomes.

Example #1: E-commerce Niche:

Do you know what this is? Because believe it or not, this weird little blue tool actually
sells thousands of units right here on amazon for $19.99, and you can buy them right
here for a dollar 97 per unit.

With over 82% of households in America having an active prime membership.

Can you guess what this little bad boy makes?...

Explanation: This ad capitalizes on the viewer's curiosity about the blue tool's
significance and potential profit, especially given its prevalence in American
households.
Example #2: Home Business Niche:
Just imagine the perfect small business that you could start. What would that look like?

You'd be able to work from home; you wouldn't have to rent expensive commercial
office space…

Explanation: This ad paints a clear and relatable picture of an ideal business scenario,
thus catching the viewer's attention. Its effectiveness is evident by its longevity since
2016.

Example #3: Wealth-building Niche:

Imagine making $246,000 a minute, that's 14 million dollars an hour and 355 million
dollars a day. Listen, I don't know if anybody personally could ever make that kind of
money…

Explanation: This ad draws viewers in with its exaggerated figures, making them
ponder the vast possibilities, even if they seem far-fetched.

Example #4: Architecture Niche:

Ever seen a cube like this? This simple geometric shape is the basis for some of the
most advanced architectural designs in the world.

From this, we've built wonders.

Explanation: A simple cube is used as a segue into the world of advanced architecture,
highlighting how basic foundations can lead to magnificent creations.

Example #5: Astronomy/Philosophy Niche:

Picture a single grain of sand.

Now, realize that our galaxy contains more stars than grains of sand on all the beaches
on Earth. Let that sink in.

Explanation: By juxtaposing a tangible element like sand with the vastness of the
universe, the viewer is made to marvel at the enormity and wonder of existence.

Additional Insights:
By strategically placing an intriguing visual element or scenario at the beginning of the
content, it's possible to make complex ideas or prospects more approachable. This not
only makes content more engaging but also promotes better understanding. Given the
right circumstances, the Visualization Hook can be a powerful tool for content creators,
especially those looking to break down intricate concepts.

- Hook #6 -

The Provocative/Abrasive Hook

Hook Goal/Purpose:
This hook is designed to make a bold, unexpected statement to catch the prospect's
attention immediately. By invoking curiosity or even a hint of controversy, the viewer is
enticed to watch further. It's crucial, however, to ensure that any explicit content, like
swear words, is censored or bleeped out, especially on platforms like YouTube, to avoid
any content violations.

For example, a provocative statement about commonly accepted practices in a

particular industry or niche can lead viewers to rethink their understanding or beliefs and
engage more with the content.

Example Demonstrations:
These examples illustrate how a provocative or abrasive statement can draw the
viewer's attention and make them curious enough to engage further with the content.
The success of this hook often lies in its unexpectedness and the emotions it evokes.

Example #1 (Online Business Niche): By Sabri Suby…

Most businesses are walking around trying to sell to complete strangers…

Explanation: This statement is jarring because it challenges conventional business

wisdom. Sabri doesn't directly address his prospects because he is targeting a broad
audience, which explains the vagueness. The wide applicability of his offer means it
resonates with almost anyone in the online business domain. This approach has proven
successful for him, as evidenced by the high number of views on his content.

Example #2 (Online Advertising Niche):

Think YouTube ads don’t work? That's what everyone who's failing wants you to believe.

Explanation: This statement is confrontational, directly challenging a commonly held

belief. It evokes curiosity about why such a statement would be made, prompting
viewers to continue watching.
Example #3 (Digital Marketing Niche):
You're still using this outdated marketing strategy? No wonder you're left behind.”

Explanation: This is abrasive as it directly calls out the viewer, implying that they are
out of touch. It creates an immediate reaction, either defensive or curious, both of which
can drive further engagement.

Example #4 (SEO/Content Marketing Niche):

Everyone thinks SEO is the key. That's why they're all wrong.

Explanation: By directly opposing a commonly accepted view (that SEO is essential),

this statement forces the viewer to reconsider their beliefs and engage more with the
content.

PROMPT:

Today, you’re a world-class direct response copywriter and YouTube advertising

Guidelines:

Be direct. Write in an appropriate tone for our target market (Write how a typical
member of our target market would ACTUALLY talk in casual conversation while out at
lunch with a close friend with zero fear of judgment).
Be VIVID, DESCRIPTIVE, VISCERAL, VISUAL and ULTRA-SPECIFIC when describing

Be bold and provocative.

Also, since these are VIDEO ADS, please include suggested VISUALS to accompany
these hooks. These visuals needs to grab attention immediately. Things that are weird,
unusual, a “pattern interrupt” from what our prospects expect to see tend to work best.

Guidelines:

Be direct. Write in an appropriate tone for our target market (Write how a typical
member of our target market would ACTUALLY talk in casual conversation while out at
lunch with a close friend with zero fear of judgment).
Be VIVID, DESCRIPTIVE, VISCERAL, VISUAL and ULTRA-SPECIFIC when describing
benefits. Do not mention anything vague.

describing… as if it’s really happening right now.

Remember, we need maximum
curiosity. Be bold and provocative.

Also, since these are VIDEO ADS, please include suggested VISUALS to accompany
these hooks. These visuals needs to grab attention immediately. Things that are weird,
unusual, a “pattern interrupt” from what our prospects expect to see tend to work best.

- Hook #12 -

The Open Loop Hook

Hook Brief Intro:

The Open Loop Hook is a masterful tool used in advertising where the goal is to
captivate the viewer with an unfinished story or an unanswered question. The viewer
feels the need to stay engaged and continue watching in order to find the resolution.
This hook operates on the Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), ensuring viewers feel
compelled to see the content to its completion.

Hook Goal/Purpose:
The purpose of the Open Loop Hook is to create an unfinished narrative or pose a
question that leaves a gap in the viewer's understanding. This intentional omission
incites curiosity, ensuring that the only way to satiate it is by watching the entire ad.
Coupling this with a product or service as the answer or solution can significantly boost
engagement and conversion.

Examples of the Open Loop Hook:

Example #1 (Music Training Niche):
What's the best kept secret to becoming a great singer?

I'm going to answer that question in 30 seconds let's start that clock. hi if you don't know
who I am my name is Aaron Anastasi Anastasia…

Explanation: This example creates suspense by posing a question and then briefly
shifting the focus to introduce the speaker, ensuring the viewer remains hooked to learn
the answer.
Example #2 (Stock Market Niche):
If it were easy to make money in the stock market everybody would be doing it. But
they're not rich and you know there's a reason why…

Explanation: Here, the speaker hints at an undisclosed reason, stimulating the viewer's
curiosity and enticing them to continue watching in hopes of uncovering the mystery.

Example #3 (Relationship Advice Niche):

There is one four-word question you must absolutely never ask a man if you want him to
be your boyfriend or your husband or anything beyond just a hookup who you never
hear from again. do you know what the question is?

Explanation: The ad tantalizes the viewer with a promise of revealing a secret, yet
strategically delays the reveal to maintain interest and engagement.

Example #4 (Fitness and Health Niche):

Ever wondered why some people can eat whatever they want and not gain weight?

I was as puzzled as you until I discovered this one simple secret…

Explanation: The question posed at the start sparks curiosity in viewers who might
have the same query. The claim of having found a secret further intensifies the viewer's
interest, urging them to watch the entire ad.

Example #5 (Travel Niche):

There's a hidden gem in Europe where you can experience the beauty of five countries
in just one day. Curious?

Explanation: Travel enthusiasts would be intrigued to know about such a unique place.
The open-ended question at the end builds anticipation and ensures viewers stick
around to find out more.

Example #6 (Gourmet Cooking Niche):

What if I told you there's a spice that can transform your ordinary dishes into
gourmet-level cuisine? Hold on, because I'm about to reveal it...
Explanation: For viewers interested in cooking, the promise of unveiling a
transformative ingredient can be quite enticing. The suspense keeps viewers engaged,
eager to discover the secret spice.
Additional Insights:
By introducing a story or a question without an immediate resolution, the Open Loop
Hook taps into the viewer's inherent desire for closure. By delaying the satisfactory
ending or answer until later in the ad or even after a specific action (like clicking on a
link), advertisers can harness the power of FOMO, compelling viewers to remain
engaged and more likely to respond to the call-to-action.

- Hook #13 -

The Curiosity Hook

Hook Brief Intro:
The Curiosity Hook is a powerhouse in the world of advertising, often leading with
intriguing questions or statements that pique the viewer's interest. While the primary aim
is to tease and make the viewer inquisitive, the succeeding parts of the ad cater to this
curiosity with revealing insights, ultimately guiding them towards the advertiser's
objective.

Hook Goal/Purpose:
The main intent of this hook is to open the ad with an intriguing question or statement
that immediately captures the viewer’s attention, driving them to watch the entire
advertisement. Understanding the target audience and their interests is paramount to
crafting a successful curiosity hook. The effectiveness of this hook lies in its ability to
keep the viewer engaged, tantalized by the promise of an interesting revelation.

Examples of the Curiosity Hook:

Example #1 (Skin Care/Health Niche):
Can eating sweet potatoes make us look younger?

Explanation: For those keen on maintaining their youthfulness, this hook taps into their
curiosity about achieving it, making it an excellent opener for skincare or health
products.

Example #2 (Weight Loss Niche):

There’s an herb that’s already sitting in your fridge that will help boost your metabolism
by 500%. You just need to know where to look.
Explanation: Targeting those eager to shed some weight, this hook connects the desire
to "boost metabolism" with an everyday item, sparking interest.

Example #3 (Digital Marketing Niche):

What if I told you that you could ethically hijack traffic from any YouTube video?

Explanation: This hook has a strong allure as it prompts viewers to think, “Is it possible
to leverage traffic from other videos on YouTube?” It indicates the focus on YouTube
advertising, potentially appealing to those keen on outsmarting their competitors.

Example #4 (Travel Niche):

What if there's a secret paradise that even the most seasoned travelers haven't
discovered?

Explanation: Sparks curiosity for adventure-seekers and frequent travelers by hinting

at an undiscovered destination.

Example #5 (Tech/Gadget Niche):

Explanation: Teases the audience with the paradoxical idea of a device, which often
gets blamed for distractions, actually benefiting cognitive abilities.

Example #6 (Literature/Reading Niche):

Did you know there's one book that even the most avid readers have missed out on?

Explanation: Piques the interest of bookworms and challenges them, making them
curious about this potentially overlooked gem.

Additional Insights:
The Curiosity Hook's potency comes from the promise of revelation. The key is to keep
the initial tease vague enough to pique interest but relevant enough to the content that
follows, ensuring the viewer feels satisfied and informed by the end of the ad.

PROMPT:

Today, you’re a world-class direct response copywriter and YouTube advertising expert
who specializes in writing ultra-compelling, attention-grabbing, and high-curiosity
provoking YouTube ads.
You are an absolute master at grabbing and holding the interest of complete strangers.
And creating interest and desire for the products and services you’re tasked with
promoting.

The most important part of the Youtube ad is the "Hook." That refers to the opening of
the video ad. Specifically the first 6 seconds. Because that's the time where the
audience decides whether to watch the ad or skip the ad.

So the first 6 seconds needs to be especially compelling. It needs to create massive

curiosity and desire, so members of our target market want to continue watching the ad.

Today, we’re going to write new ads using The Curiosity Hook

- Hook #14 -
The Bold/Unbelievable Statement/Claim Hook
Hook Brief Intro:
The "Bold/Unbelievable Statement/Claim Hook" is prevalent in ads that seek to make a
memorable impression right at the outset. By making a strong, eye-catching statement,
this hook immediately captures the viewer's attention. After making the claim, it's
essential to provide supporting information or proof to maintain credibility. Just like
teaching-style ads, these hooks often end with a call-to-action, turning the viewer's
attention into a tangible action.

Hook Goal/Purpose:
The primary goal of this hook is to open with a striking and audacious statement that
ignites the viewer's curiosity. This method ensures that the audience's attention is
immediately seized. By hinting at revealing more information or providing proof later in
the ad, viewers are compelled to continue watching. It's pivotal to ensure the claim,
although bold, is believable and can be substantiated in the subsequent sections of the
ad.

Examples of the Bold/Unbelievable Statement/Claim Hook:

Example #1: [Niche???]
There's a big government scandal going on that you need to know about it; the

Example #3: Digital Marketing Niche:

Explanation: The bold promise of leveraging YouTube traffic is eye-catching and

prompts viewers to learn the method.

Example #4: Online Advertising Niche

What if I told you there was a risk-free way to run YouTube ads where you only paid if
somebody actually watched your video?

Explanation: This audacious claim about YouTube advertising is instantly intriguing,

promising a unique and cost-effective marketing strategy.

Example #5: Investment Niche:

Imagine if you invested in Google, Tesla, or Bitcoin in 2009. Here’s the next opportunity.

Explanation: This statement makes a bold comparison to past successful investments,

luring potential investors to discover the next big opportunity.

Additional Insights:
For the "Bold/Unbelievable Statement/Claim Hook" to work effectively, it is crucial to
back up the claim with credible information or proof. This ensures that the viewer's trust
is not betrayed. Just like the preview offered in the "Big Benefit/Promise Hook", the
claim in this hook should directly address the viewer's interests. Once their curiosity is
piqued, the delivery of further details and the final call-to-action should be paced
appropriately for maximum engagement and conversion.
