Latar Belakang
Ekuador adalah negara penerus setelah runtuhnya Gran Kolombia pada tahun 1830. Antara
tahun 1904 dan 1942, Ekuador kehilangan beberapa wilayahnya dalam konflik dengan negara
tetangga. Secara politik Ekuador dapat dikatakan tidak stabil di sepanjang sejarahnya, dengan 20
konstitusi sejak memperoleh kemerdekaan pada tahun 1830.
