What was What a Wonderful World truly about?
In Louis Armstrong's song “What a Wonderful World” he shows in his song how hope is the best and is
still possible and motivates us to press on. For example, in these lyrics, I see skies of blue And clouds of
white The bright blessed day The dark sacred night And I think to myself What a wonderful world this
implies that the world's skies, day and night, are all magnificent objects. I think he utilizes these lines to
suggest that there are more good things than bad things in our world and that everything is wonderful.
Furthermore, The colors of the rainbow So pretty in the sky Are also on the faces Of people going by I see
friends shaking hands Saying, "How do you do?" They're really saying I love you this points out affection for
you by highlighting relationships between people, the splendor of the natural world, and displays of
friendship and love. We tend to find the good things in our environment instead of the chaos and violence.
The message of this song is that, even in the face of adversity, there is always something beautiful and
delightful to find around us.
