Flexing is a dominant practice in the lives of public figures. Influencers, celebrities, and wealthy people flex on
their social media accounts by showing off their material possessions; designer clothes, expensive cars, luxury houses, and
exotic vacations. For celebrities, flex culture could be accepted as part of their job and a necessary lifestyle for their
success. A lot of their followers draw the conclusions that the formula for success on social media is to wear designer
clothes and drive expensive cars. Flexing as a new type of popular culture seems rather interesting for the ordinary
viewers, and especially for the fans of these public figures, however, the culture possesses its own risk for the individuals
who want to become part of it. Creating an image of luxury is not a problem for the people who can afford it, but for those
who cannot, it could lead to financial problems.
