Introduction About
Sight Words

The Jumbo Book of Sight Word Practice Pages is a collection of


engaging activities designed to help kids master the top 200
high-frequency words found on the Dolch Basic Sight Word Many sight words are difficult

The activities in this resource give children lots of opportunities


to recognize, write, and spell sight words, as well as read the words
in context. The words—taken from the Dolch Basic Sight Word
Vocabulary List—are presented in the order of their frequency (see page
10 for a list of words by grade level), but you can introduce the pages in
any order that best suits children’s needs. Sight word cards, assessment
charts, and recording forms are also included to help you reinforce
learning and keep track of children’s progress.

Each reproducible, two-sided page features a specific sight word. The pages can be
used with the whole class, in small groups, or in a learning center where children
complete them individually or in pairs. Or, children can complete the pages for
homework. The activities are ideal for children of all learning styles, for ELL
students, and for RTI instruction. And best of all, they connect to the Common Core State
Standards for Reading (Foundational Skills) to help you meet the recommended learning goals
for your students.

What’s Inside
Each two-sided page in this resource features a Circle the Word (word recognition,
specific sight word and activities that give children comprehension, fluency): In the middle right section
