LeBron James is an American professional basketball player who was born on December 30, 1984
in Akron, Ohio. He is widely recognized as one of the greatest players of all time and is often
compared to Michael Jordan in debates over the greatest basketball player of all time. He has won
four NBA championships, four Finals MVP Awards, four MVP Awards, and two Olympic gold
medals, among other achievements. He is also the NBA’s all-time leading scorer and ranks fourth
in career assists. He is a social and philanthropic activist, who has created his own foundation and
school to help disadvantaged children. He is married to Savannah Brinson, with whom he has
three children: LeBron Jr., Bryce, and Zhuri. He has also participated in several movies and TV
shows, such as Trainwreck, Space Jam: A New Legacy, and The Shop
James became famous at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, where he was part of the Fab Four, a
team that won several state and national championships. James was named Ohio’s Mr. Basketball
(high-school player of the year) three times and received numerous awards and recognitions. In
2003, he was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick of the NBA draft,
without going to college. He won the Rookie of the Year award in his first season and became the
youngest player to score 10,000 points in the NBA. He led the Cavaliers to their first NBA Finals
appearance in 2007, but they lost to the San Antonio Spurs. He became a free agent in 2010 and
joined the Miami Heat, forming a “Big Three” with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. He won his first
two NBA titles with the Heat in 2012 and 2013, as well as two MVP Awards and two Finals MVP
Awards. He also won two Olympic gold medals with the U.S. national team in 2008 and 2012
In 2014, he returned to the Cavaliers and led them to four consecutive NBA Finals, winning one in
2016 against the Golden State Warriors. In 2018, he became a free agent again and signed with
the Los Angeles Lakers. He won his fourth NBA title and fourth Finals MVP Award with the Lakers
in 2020, becoming the first player to win Finals MVP Awards with three different teams. In 2023,
he became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record points.
