The Town planning

Modern development and the future city

Prof. M.sallam Almadhaji

Abstract

Today the Yemeni city suffers lots of problems in planning that reflects
directly and indirectly on its residents and their activities, lives and future.
These problems can be summarized into the most important issues which are
the population, services, environment, transportation and the population
growth. The Yemeni city, despite its current problems, must not be wholly
engaged in solving its current problems and ignore the activity of
overwhelming modern developments which invaded every daily aspects of
human. They are even in each and every house and they don't need years to
reach as the world today (is almost a universal village) Therefore, the local
and time difference are diminishing and decreasing. Here many questions
are asked about the reality and future of Yemeni cities. Endless questions
can be subdivided from them. Therefore, the cities are between hammer of
planning problems, which are increasing and anvil of the new world wide
reality with its different excretion in one side and the future features that
differ with the lived reality and the new direction of the Yemeni city in
another side.

The aim of the research is to assign the most important modern

developments and the future features of the cities in order to put the related
authorities of a reality that should be treated seriously. That will be done by
reviewing the condition of the Yemeni cities and the process of Town
planning in it. And to achieve this purpose, the research depended on the
analyzing methods as a methodology to explore the most important
