2. Attachment, function and technology

2.1 Product description

Since mid-2018, the hydraulic quickcouplers HS 01, HS 03 and HS 03H have been offered not only in the standard
version but also in the basic version with an extended claw and a plus version with a safety valve in the latch unit and
an extended claw.

All versions are hydraulically unlocked and permanently locked by spring force.

Quickcoupler adapter compatibility

All quickcouplers in the versions PlusBasic and Plus are compatible with the previous adapters.
A conversion of existing adapters is unnecessary. New ordered adapters are identical to the previously ordered
adapters.

Retrofitting
The Standard version of quickcoupler sizes HS 01, HS 03, HS 03H and HS 08 can easily be upgraded to the PlusBasic
version with two reinforcement plates.
Retroffiting from Standard to Plus or from PlusBasic to Plus is not possible.

2.1.1 Standard version

The quickcoupler can be operated with the standard controller or Lehmatic Safety Control (LCS).
The indicator pin indicates whether the locking is correct.

2.1.2 Plus version

The safety valve in the latch unit prevents the quickcoupler from being locked and used if not properly seated in the
adapter. The indicator pin remains extended and signals to the user that the quickcoupler is still unlocked.

If the quickcoupler is seated correctly in the adapter, the valve is opened via a mechanical release plunger in the lock
surface and the locking pins can extend. The indicator pin retracts and signals that locking is correct.

The quickcoupler has extended claws for enhanced safety by reducing the risk of an attachment falling down if it is
accidentally locked incorrectly.

2.10 Hydraulic circuit diagrams and connector assignment

The quickcoupler is locked by spring force.

In idle state, the locking pins are kept in the locking position by compression spring.
To unlock, the single-acting hydraulic cylinder will be subjected to pressure via the 4/2-way valve.
The valve is actuated via the push button.
The connection P of the 4/2-way valve is connected directly to, for example, the "Lift pusher blade" supply line.
As the spring force must be overcome to unlock, a minimum pressure of 160 bar (HS 01) or 180 bar (HS 03) is requi-
red (see chapter 2.2 Locking pressure and unlocking pressure, p. 16).

The corresponding non-return valve in the latch unit prevents the quickcoupler from being locked and used if not pro-
perly seated in the adapter.
The pressure that is applied when unlocking the quickcoupler is maintained until the release plunger mechanically
opens the releasable non-return valve. The release plunger is triggered by contact with the lock plate of the adapter on
the attachment. Opening the valve releases the tensioned compression springs and locks the quickcoupler.
The system guarantees that the quickcoupler can only be locked when it is seated correctly in the adapter.
