Assessment & Development Plan

Creating a spiritual and psychological growth development plan for the interviewee based

on their answers requires a personalized approach that considers their unique beliefs, challenges,

and goals. First and foremost, it’s important to recognize and validate their agnostic perspective

and their openness to various spiritual views. And ensure they feel their beliefs are respected. We

should also encourage and support their regular meditation practice and suggest exploring other

meditation techniques and provide resources for further learning and growth (Miller, K. 2020).

Acknowledge their doubts about the existence of a higher power and engage in open, non-

judgmental conversations to help them explore these questions and find answers that resonate

with them. Build on their existing coping strategies, which include meditation, exercise, and

talking to friends. Support their sense of connection to nature and community by encouraging

more nature-based activities and involvement in community service or social groups that align
with their values (Seward, n.d.). We’ll continue to encourage the use of professional help when

needed and make sure they know where to seek support if needed for the unresolved trauma if it

becomes a bigger issue. We’ll also help them explore their sense of purpose by identifying

concrete actions and projects that align with their values and goals. This could include

volunteering, pursuing educational opportunities, or engaging in meaningful work. Support their

exploration of spirituality without pushing them into a specific belief system by offering

resources, books, or events where they can learn more about different spiritual perspectives.

We’ll maintain regular check-ins to assess their progress and adjust the plan as needed.

Encourage them to journal their experiences and insights along their journey. We’ll encourage

them to journal throughout this process, and emphasize self-compassion and self-acceptance

throughout their growth development plan because spiritual and psychological work can be a

challenging process, and it's important to be kind to yourself. We’ll assess their development and

adjust the plan accordingly.

As a wellness professional, it is essential to respect your potential client’s autonomy and

their personal belief system. This means refraining from imposing your own beliefs, values, or

judgments on them. Our role is to guide and support them in their growth journey, not to

persuade them to adopt a particular belief system. It's crucial to ensure that the plan is aligned

with their values, choices, and goals. We must avoid any conflicts of interest that might

compromise the objectivity and integrity of our guidance. In the context of developing a growth

plan, this means being transparent about any potential conflicts. Therefore, if I as a wellness

professional have a financial interest in recommending certain spiritual practices or therapy

options, it either should be told up front, or not in their development plan. This transparency

helps maintain trust and ensures that the advice given is solely in the best interest of their well-
being. At this time, I would not recommend any changes, and would want to see how this plan

works for at least 60 days with a follow up in at least four weeks to discuss any issues, findings,

or potential changes. Since it’s a new plan, and it may take time to get into a routine it’s

important to see what may work and what may not.
