HOLIDAYS HOME WORK 2024-2025

CLASS X (SOCIAL SCIENCE)

I. Read, learn and revise the chapters of the first term examination.

II. PICTIONARY ALBUM


Prepare chapter wise picture-based glossary of the following:

History • Nationalism in Europe


• Nationalism in India

Political science • Power sharing


• Federalism

Economics • Development
• Sectors of the economy

Geography • Resource and Development,


• Forest and Wildlife,
• Water Resources

• There should be minimum 10 terms from each chapter.

III. Prepare a BIO-SKETCH on the following from the chapter ‘Nationalism in Europe’ and ‘Nationalism in
India’, highlighting the important role played by the following personalities.
1. Napoleon Bonaparte
2. Giuseppe Mazzini
3. Otto-von Bismarck
4. Metternich
5. Garibaldi
6. Mahatma Gandhi
7. Jawaharlal Nehru
8. Moti lal Nehru
9. C.R. Das
10. Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan
11. Alluri Sita Ram Raju
● Information should be taken from the book or internet.
● Bio-sketch should be of minimum 1 coloured page each.
● Pasting of the picture of the character is compulsory.

IV. CBSE: PROJECT WORK

General instructions:
● Information should be taken from sources like books, magazine or internet.
● The project should be of minimum 20 pages.
● The project should contain pie charts, bar graphs, pictures, survey etc.
● The Project Report should be handwritten or digital.
● The projects and models prepared should be made from eco-friendly products without incurring too
much expenditure.
● No writing to be done on left side and should be covered with relevant photos, diagrams or data tables
● Any data or fact should be presented with the source.
● Students are expected to apply the Social Science concepts that they have learnt over the years in order
to prepare the project report.
● Different forms of art may be integrated in the project work.
● Should follow the following pattern
➢ Attractive cover page with title
➢ Certificate of authenticity
➢ Abstract (briefly explaining the objective of the project)
➢ Table of contents
➢ Introduction
➢ Main Content
➢ Results and discussion
➢ Summary/conclusions
➢ References
➢ Appendices (if used)

NOTE: Project work will be assessed out of 5 marks.

V. Prepare an ATLAS of the following maps:


● Political map of India indicating states and capitals.
● Physical map of India showing major physical features.
● Physical map of India showing the different soil types.
● Political map of India locating sessions of Indian National Congress during the Nationalist Movement.
● Political map of India locating important places associated with Satyagraha movement.
● World map showing the axis and the Allied powers.
● European map having the major European countries with their capitals.

VI. EK BHARAT SHRESHTHA BHARAT: Collaborating state/Union territory

Delhi and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep

THE ACTIVITY: Brochure / Foldable / Leaflet designing

GROUP ACTIVITY: 1. The class will be divided into group of 5 students each
2. Total 10 groups based on the Multiple Intelligence (M.I)skills of the students.
Group 1 to 5: Delhi and Andaman and Nicobar Islands
Group 5 to 10: Delhi and Lakshadweep Islands

• The Brochure / Foldable/ Flyer/ Leaflet designing should be highlighting the following detailed research
work:
1. Demography of the place
2. Culture
a. Dance b. music c. food items d. costumes e. jewellery etc.
3. Ethnic diversity
4. Political setup
5. Governmental schemes (preferential policy if any)
6. Employment opportunities
7. Reservation policy
8. Voters Turn out in the General Elections 2024.
• Information should be taken from sources like books, newspaper, magazine, internet etc.
• The activity should contain pie charts, bar-graphs, pictures, survey etc.

VII. INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECT (refer to CBSE syllabus for guidelines)

their Multiple Intelligence skills.
• Collaborate among your team of students to arrange their roles, areas of integration, area of
investigation and analysis.
• FINAL PRESENTATION: Conclude the interdisciplinary project and summarize the key takeaways
