rests with the manufacturer or his representative in accordance with Directive 2014/90/EU.
This certificate is valid for equipment, which is conform to the approved type. The manufacturer shall inform DNV SE of any changes to the approved equipment. This
certificate remains valid unless suspended, withdrawn, recalled or cancelled.
Should the specified regulations or standards be amended during the validity of this certificate, the product is to be re-approved before being placed on board a vessel
to which the amended regulations or standards apply.

Product description
Self- Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus 9L

Are self-contained compressed-air-operated breathing apparatus for use by fire fighting.

Maximum working pressure: 300 bar.

The principal components are as follows:


- Full-face mask (Material Code 02253)
- Pressure regulator with gauge and whistle (Material Code 02255) acc. to IMO Res. MSC.339(91) in conjunction
with IMO MSC.1/Circ.1499
- Pressure and air flow regulator (Material Code 02256)
- Carrier and harness (Material Code 02254)
- Compressed air cylinder, 6L of steel (Material Code 02257) for product No. 71327
- Compressed air cylinder, 9L of carbon fibre composite with aluminium liner (Material Code02258) for product No.
71328
- Compressed air cylinder valve (Material Code 02260)
- Storage case.

Application/Limitation
Approved for use as self-contained compressed air breathing apparatus of fire- .

The air cylinders shall be designed in accordance with national regulations.

The volume of air contained in the air cylinders shall be at least 1200 liter.

The apparatus is not for use in accidents with cargoes.

All air cylinders for breathing apparatus shall be interchangeable.

Each SCBA shall be used together with an approved lifeline (complying with the requirements of MED/3.44 and ISO
23269-2 Para 4.28.) as part of the fire-fighters outfit according to FSS Code Ch.3.2.1.3. This lifeline to be capable of
being attached by means of a snap-hook to the harness of the apparatus or to a separate belt in order to prevent the
breathing apparatus becoming detached when the lifeline is operated.

The complete apparatus shall undergo practical performance tests under realistic conditions to check for imperfections.

for application / limitations, checks prior to use, donning and fitting, use, cleaning and disinfection, maintenance,
transport and storage shall be adhered to.

Each product is to be supplied with its manual for installation, maintenance and use.

Tests carried out


Tested according to EN 137 (2006) and EN 136 (1998) including AC (1999) and AC (2003), ISO 23269-2:2011.

Marking of product
The product is to be marked in accordance with and ISO 23269-2 §9 and with the MED Mark of Conformity (see first
page).

The compressed air cylinder markings shall include the charging pressure, capacity and the stamp of the authorized
inspection body.
