the course would not be as engaging and
interactive as face-to-face study on campus.
By far the most enjoyable component of my
Meg Simmonds
course was the regular and engaging
Master of Public Health interactions with lecturers and fellow students.
At every step of my study journey, I felt
supported and connected to my fellow
students and the wider university community.
What did you most enjoy about your
practical experience?
I enjoyed developing my practical skills in
critical analysis and the ability to engage
consistently with other students – to
share, discuss and challenge one another’s
perspectives via interactive learning methods,
group assessments and student discussion
forums. This was particularly insightful
and enjoyable when engaging with our
international student community. I had a
completely innovative and globally connected
education experience – that only an institution
like Torrens University can offer.
What is next?
A PhD is definitely calling, when the season is
right. I would like to undertake further study in
health economics relating to public health law,
so I can have more of an impact and influence
on policy-making in Australia and globally,
particularly in the areas of chronic disease and
environmental health.
