Fis E-Poster and Presentation Guidelines - Async - March2024
SYNOPSIS MODULE
This course covers the relation between philosophy and the National Education Philosophy and
Rukun Negara. Philosophy is used as a tool to refine the culture of thought in life through the
art and methods of thinking as well as through our understanding of the concept of the human
person. Key fields in philosophy, namely epistemology, metaphysics, and ethics, are discussed
in the context of current issues. Emphasis is given to philosophy as the basis for inter-cultural
dialogue and fostering common values. At the end of this course, students will be able to see
the disciplines of study as a comprehensive and integrated body of knowledge.
Among the impact of this course is to encourage students to think deeply about a current issue
that has some impact on human existence as well as to provide an opportunity for students to
work collaboratively in projects aimed at building their knowledge and analytical skills
revolving around the study of the above issue.
THE REQUIREMENTS
You are expected to work in teams of 6-8 members in a group. Grouping will be set
automatically in the Moodle. Your group is required to do a research study. Each group can
choose ONE THEME to do any issues on:
1. Education
2. Social
3. Technology
Students need to propose specific topic relevant to the themes above to your supervisor in Week
6.
All group members should play an equal part in the presentation. All members of the group
should be prepared to answer questions on any aspect of the presentation, and will therefore
need to be familiar with the content of all group members. During the presentation, each
member need to turn on their camera at all time and record the video. Group poster presentation
will be assessed on:
ASSESSMENTS MARKS
1. Abstract (Clearly frame the poster purpose) 2 marks
2. Introduction (Clearly frame the poster purpose) 3 marks
3. Content
a. Language (Accurate, clear and appropriate) 20 marks
b. Includes: (4 marks each
i. Significance of the study (Research Questions & component)
Research Objectives – Indicate 3 for each
component)
ii. Methodology
iii. Findings
iv. Recommendation
4. Design and layout
a. Clear (Conveys title, authors’ names & TP No.) 10 marks
b. Alignment (Headings, columns and graphics are well- (2 marks each
aligned) component)
c. Balance (Content layout is distributed, so it is pleasing to
look at)
d. Headings and fonts (Headings are consistent and well-
used to divide the poster)
e. Interpretability (Figure label and captions allow viewers
to interpret easily)
5. Conclusion (Clearly frame the poster purpose) 3 marks
6. References (At least 5 references, using APA-style citation) 2 marks
From group poster presentation, each member will be accessed individually. Students will be
graded based on:
ASSESSMENTS MARKS
1. Knowledge of the topic 10 marks
2. Language proficiency 10 marks
3. Eye contact 10 marks
ASSIGNMENT ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
The criteria below detail the areas, which will be taken into account when the assignment is
marked. Each piece of assessed work will be awarded a percentage between 0 and 100%. The
grades awarded will be marked according to the following criteria:
65 – 74% This will be equivalent to a Credit. This would represent extremely good work
demonstrating an in depth understanding of material and sound analysis and
conclusions.
50 – 64% This would be equivalent to a Pass. Work in this category should demonstrate
good application of the main Principles to the question set and provide a well-
balanced view.
