7. Sinopsis :
As teachers are integral to effective implementation, it is critical to examine teachers' and pre-service teachers' perceptions of bullying so that effective
training can be designed to meet their needs. Benitez et al (2011) argue that after attending the intervention training, there has been an increasing self-
efficacy in preservice teachers. “Training includes reviewing and revising bullying policies, designing bullying-related training, planning anti-bullying
school health committees, role-playing, case studies and self-reflection.” (Banas, 2015, p.15). De Luca et al (2019) supports in-service and workshops to
increase teachers' confidence and skills in coping with bullying (p.7). We hope that the bullying cases will dismiss one day.

8. Nilai Pengetahuan / Pengajaran :

If we don't understand the root causes of bullies' aggressive behavior and don't think about the historical origin and existential significance behind their
behavior, then our governance will also be "fixing both the symptoms and the root causes". Some school bullies, mimicking some of the behavior of parents
and other adults, have mastered this fist fighting method of problem solving and communication. According to Olweus (1978), “some students in early
childhood lack the ability to interact with their peers due to isolation from social groups, and they develop interpersonal relationships through inappropriate
behaviors, such as aggressive behavior” (Farrington, 1993). When we look beyond the surface of bullying to understand the deeper meaning behind it, we
discover that what we need to do is not simply eliminate bullying, but embrace its aggressiveness and translate it into social and moral acceptance. In other
words, these bullies should not be reformed through punishment alone.

9. Aplikasi Ilmu Dalam Organisasi / P & P :

According to behavioral learning methods, humans can be conditioned to do anything regardless of their attitudes, abilities, and experience. This means that
behavior is determined by experience. Therefore, shaping student behavior is all about immersing students in their feelings and thoughts through elements
of advice and discussion. Behavioral formation can be accomplished by understanding that students have disciplinary issues. Skinner (1982) suggested that
“good behavior can be achieved by avoiding problematic or undisciplined behavior” ( Salleh et al., 2014, p.2). Assuming that all behaviors can be learned,
teachers play an important role in helping students with behavioral problems establish positive and acceptable behaviors in school.

Nama Sekolah : SJK ( C ) KIM SEN Kod Sekolah : PBC0030

1. Nama Guru NG SOCK NI

2. Judul : Gestalt Therapy Perspectives and Applications 3. Bidang : Counselling

4. Pengarang : Edwin C. Nevis 5. Bil. m/s : 366

6. Tarikh Pembacaan 21.04 .2023

7. Sinopsis :
The publication of the classic text Gestalt Therapy: Perspectives and Applications in 1992 marked the beginning of a global revival in the study of Gestalt
theory. A diverse collection of essays from Gestalt therapists of all stripes are expertly brought together in this volume by Edwin Nevis, one of the most
influential Gestalt writers, thinkers, and practitioners of the past 40 years. These essays are brought together by their clarity of thought and their ongoing
dedication to the advancement and extension of the Gestalt model. A collection of ground-breaking essays on subjects like diagnosis and ethics from a
Gestalt perspective, as well as a variety of pragmatic clinical writings of direct relevance to the working practitioner, make up one of the best overviews of
classical Gestalt therapy theory and practise that is currently available.

8. Nilai Pengetahuan / Pengajaran :

Gestalt therapy is a bit unusual compared to other theoretical modalities, but there are many people who practise it and integrate its techniques into therapy.
Gestalt therapy focuses on how we give meaning and make sense of our world and our experiences. The goals of counselling according to the Gestalt
approach are:
1.
To increase awareness of the client
A major part of Gestalt therapy is awareness. Many people experience difficulties because they are unaware of their sensory emotions, have poor awareness
of their body sensations, or have poor awareness of their own contact with the environment or other people. Counsellors need to help their clients achieve
personal growth and engage courageously with their environment and others.
56976.
Address any unfinished bussiness
Unfinished business refers to the reasons for feeling and thinking about a particular problem in the past life without fully addressing it, often associated with
people with a "growth disorder." People with unfinished business tend to resent the past and are therefore unable to focus on the here and now. One of the
main goals of Gestalt therapy is to help people through their unfinished business and bring about closure.
56080.
Increase acceptance and be responsible for a client.
A counsellor can use a variety of techniques to increase the client's inner strength and independence. Counsellors must assist clients in taking responsibility
for their own lives, not blaming others.
57312.
Become assertive and confident.
A counsellor can motivate clients to develop skills or values that meet their needs and unlock their full potential. Thus, the client can cope with his
difficulties and be able to make meaningful and authentic connections with the world.
56360.
Exploration here and now
The essence of the Gestalt process is to focus and explore here and now, without much time for worrying about the future and for hesitation, guilt, or
resentment about the past. The facilitator needs to guide the client in learning to appreciate and fully experience the present moment.

9. Aplikasi Ilmu Dalam Organisasi / P & P :

We live in a rapidly changing world with increasing cases of suicide and bullying in Malaysian schools. Therefore, school counsellors play an important
role in helping and guiding students in making choices and adapting to the environment. The Malaysian minister has assigned each school a trained
counsellor in a ratio of 500 students to help students maximise their abilities, abilities and talents in their future lives.
1.
Students' Holistic Development
According to the Malaysian educational philosophy, school teachers try to develop a balanced individual intellectually, physically, emotionally, and
spiritually. However, exam-oriented schools lead to neglect of other aspects of school performance, such as leadership, sports, social skills, and so forth.
Therefore, regardless of a student's cultural, socioeconomic background, gender, or age, school counsellors need to have a comprehensive counselling
programme that embraces real and authentic opportunities for development.
57144.
Making decisions
Today, students’ decision-making skills are rarely developed because all their decisions are made by teachers and parents. Students will not be able to make
good decisions when problems related to daily life arise. Therefore, school counsellors can develop counselling tutoring programmes to guide students in
developing decision-making skills. This can help students have a clearer picture of which option is better for them than others. With this, they can also
develop a sense of responsibility and handle all their daily problems independently.
57200.
Motivating Students
There are many kinds of students in school. Some people well adapt to the school environment, but some students cannot perform well academically.
Therefore, school counsellors can host motivational camps to motivate these students. These programmes recognise students' achievements and encourage
them to reach their potential. In addition, school counsellors can help students, particularly those with low academic performance, develop other talents
such as musical talents, sports talents, and so on. In addition, programmes such as award ceremonies, "everyone has talent," sports day, and "dancing
queen" allow students to develop their talents. This also prevents them from developing disciplinary issues.
