Prof. Kathirvelu's student Azeem had come to meet his old teacher. Even after his retirement many
of his students visit him to clear their doubts and discuss about the latest developments in the
economy.
"Hello Azeem How are you? What news?"
"I’m fine sir. Thank you. Sir last week I met two of my friends who are working in the marketing
field. One of them, who is the regional marketing manager of a company selling kitchenware, told
me that in recent months the sale of common kitchenware like pots and pans have fallen drastically.
The other one, who is the marketing manager of a five star hotel group told me that now they are
having roaring business. Isn’t it contradictory? "
"Yes Azeem it is a sad condition. In a recent report OXFARM has disclosed that in India, after the

turn may induce the people to save more. When the savings are high, the money in circulation will
be low and this may affect the demand for goods and services. This in turn may lead to a reduction

"Yes it is true. But it need not be viewed as something bad. Most of the time such outflow of capital
