INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE PROJECT


“A study on payroll management and employees satisfaction towards pay structure.”
Payroll management involves the administration and oversight to employee compensation
within an organization. It calculating, processing, and distributing salaries, wages, bonus, and
deductions accurately and punctually. Payroll management is a critical aspect of human
resources (HR) that directly impacts employee satisfaction and organizational success. It
encompasses the processes involved in calculating salaries, wages, deductions, and bonuses,
ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees. However, beyond the operational
aspects, the structure and management of payroll also significantly influence how employees
perceive their compensation and overall job satisfaction.

Employee satisfaction towards pay structure refers to how well the compensation system meets
employees expectations, fairness, and the perceived value of their work contributions. It
encompasses factors such as salary levels, benefits packages, transparency in pay practices, and
opportunities for growth and rewards. When employees feel fairly compensated and valued, it
enhances their motivation, commitment to the organization, and overall job satisfaction.

Payroll management and employees’ satisfaction with pay structures, well examine key principles
of fair compensation, strategies to enhance transparency and equity in pay practices, and the impact
of these factors on organizational culture and employee retention. By understanding these
dynamics, HR professionals can optimize payroll practices to foster a positive work environment
and achieve sustainable organizational success.

Payroll management is calculating the salary and wages of permanent and temporary employees of
an organisation. Payroll calculation considers and employee’s attendance, bonus, overtime, tax
rules and other information to generate the pay slip of that employee. Payroll can be run daily,
weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly depending on the salary cycles of the organisation.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
If the organization uses software to record employees of organization, manually the organization,
manually the organization is maintaining of all records of employees it is hard to maintain and it is
not that easy to search the required information if the information is required urgently in manual
records sometimes there is a chance of loosing the data. So by using the software to records the
employee’s information it saves times and space it provides safety for data.

NEED FOR THE STUDY


1. To understand the interface level between account and HR Department in an organisation in the
payroll management system in bamul
2. The management was in the position to know whether the existing software system used is
effective or not.
3. To measure the satisfaction level of the employees using the payroll management system.
4. To obtain the feedback from the employees which enable further improvement in existing
payroll management system.
5. This kind of research is not carried out in past.
6. The management is currently wants to adopt the payroll system.
7. To measure the employee’s satisfaction towards the pay structure.
8. To give the suggestion to adopt the payroll software.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY


 To understand the concept of payroll management.
 To analyze that the employees were satisfied with the payroll system.
 To understand the pay structure of the organization.
 To understand the payroll system at bomul.
 To know the various tools of payroll information management system.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY


Designing a payroll management system that enhances employee satisfaction with the pay structure
at Bumul industries involves focusing on transparency, accuracy, and efficiency.
By focusing on these aspects, Bumul industries can design a payroll management system that
timely payments but also enhances employee satisfaction by fostering transparency, efficiency, and
trust in the pay structure.
1. Ensure that the pay structure is fair and equitable across different roles and levels within the
organization.
2. Provide transparency on how pay decisions are made, including performance evaluations, merit
increases, and promotions.
3. Involve employees in discussions about pay structure and compensation policies through
regular feedback sessions or surveys.
4. Ensure payment are processed on time, without delays or errors, to enhance trust and reliability.

LITERATURE REVIEW
According to” steven m. Bragg” (2011), payroll management is designed for both professional
accounts and students. Since both can benefit from its detailed descriptions of payroll systems,
control, procedures and regulation

According to chetan wain (2014), payroll being the most vital part of HR generalist have
maximum number of jobs to offer and make enable them to handle payroll calculation of
employees independently.

Ajit yadav (2014) said that payroll is also incredibly important to its recipents: employee of a
company. Employee moral can be negatively affected by errors and irregulaties in payroll, so an
organisation must distribute payroll in a appropriate manner.

Charlie (2000) defined that “Payroll strategies increases profitability, maximize employee
efficiencies, reduce time in transactional HR areas”.

Robert leach (1999), “Payroll function could be better integrated into the HR function, whether
any of the information held by the payroll function could usefully be shared”.

According to kyle pomerleau (2014), “Government levy payroll taxes on both the employee and
the employer, though both are ultimately paid by wage earners”

This study is mainly focus on the association with the payment of employees and employee’s
satisfaction towards their monthly payment, the employees are ready for their payment after the
deduction and allowance. Only permanent employees get their payment after all allowance and
deduction, contract based employees won’t get any allowance and deduction. The attendance is one
of the main factor consider while calculating the pays. The mode payment used to pay the payments
is bank transfer.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research is scientific and systematic research When we talk of research methodology, we not only
talk of research method even we can take it into consideration the logic behind the methods which
we use in the context of our research study and explain why we use or why we are using a particular
method or technique. The information that is to be needed for fulfilling the objective of employee
payroll was collected from various primary and secondary sources.

TYPES OF DATA SOURCES:


Data means a collection of facts in real life statistical data is a collection of facts in numerical
figures. The data sources are usually identified using the type of data needed.
There are of two types:
a) The primary Data
b) The secondary Data
A) PRIMARY DATA: The first-hand information by the investigator by means of observation face
to face questioning, telephonic interview and mailing questionnaire is called primary data. Primary
information consists of original information gathered for a specific purpose. The findings of the
study are confined only to the question asked in the questionnaire and through personal interviews.

B) SECONDARY DATA: secondary data consists of information that already exists somewhere,
having been collected for another purpose.

• Magazines and text books published on Human Resources Management.
The tools that are used for the collection of data are feedback forms, Interviews and records of the
organization. These tools helped in gathering the required information for the payroll conducted.
HYPOTHESIS
H01: There is a significance of satisfaction levels towards usage of software for payroll process.
H02: There is a significance of training given to employees
H03: There is a significance of the HR department for payroll process of clients

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDYS


 The respondents’ attitude did not allow me to get their true feelings
 Most of the workers are busy with work load and they did not responded properly.
 The duration of the project is limited.
 Because of official secrecy the managers of the company are not ready to give certain data.
 Could not get sufficient time to interact much with the senior managers as they were always busy
with their works.
