• Premier Yarns Anti-Pilling Everyday DK light (DK) weight acrylic yarn (3½ oz/273
yds/100g per ball):
1 ball each #1107-55 blush and #1107-19 linen
• Size D/3/3.25mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle
• Fiberfill
• 6mm black safety eyes: 2
• Black cotton thread
Gauge
7 sc = 1 inch; 7 sc rows = 1 inch
Pattern Notes
Join with slip stitch in first single crochet of round unless otherwise stated.
Begin each round in same stitch as join.
Use photograph as a guide when sewing pieces together and embroidering stitches.
Head and body, ears, and arms are worked from the top down.

Single crochet increase (sc inc): Work 2 sc in 1 st.
Petunia
Head & Body
Rnd 1: With blush, form a slip ring (see illustration), work 8 sc in ring, pull tail to close, join
(see Pattern Notes). (8 sc)
Slip Ring
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc inc (see Special Stitch) in each st to end, join. (16 sc)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, (sc in next st—see Pattern Notes, sc inc in next st) 8 times, join. (24 sc)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, (sc in next 2 sts, sc inc in next st) 8 times, join. (32 sc)
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in each st to end, join.
Rnds 9–18: Rep rnd 5.

Insert safety eyes between rnds 12 and 13, 10 sts apart.
Rnd 19: Ch 1, (sc in next 5 sts, sc dec—see Stitch Guide in next 2 sts) 8 times, join. (48 sc)
Rnd 20: Ch 1, (sc in next 4 sts, sc dec in next 2 sts) 8 times, join. (40 sc)
Rnd 23: Ch 1, working in front lp (see Stitch Guide) of each st, sc in each st to end, join.

Start stuffing the body and continue as you go.
Rnds 27 & 28: Rep rnd 5.
Rnd 30: Rep rnd 5.
Rnd 34: Rep rnd 5.
Rnds 37–40: Rep rnd 5.

Rnd 45: Rep rnd 5.
Rnd 48: Ch 1, working in back lp (see Stitch Guide) of each st, (sc in next 2 sts, sc dec in next 2
sts) 10 times, join. (30 sc)
Rnd 51: Ch 1, (sc in next st, sc dec in next 2 sts) 6 times, join. (12 sc)
Finish stuffing the body firmly.
Rnd 52: Ch 1, (sc dec in next 2 sts) 6 times, join. (6 sc)
Fasten off, weave tail through rem 6 sts, pull tightly to close hole and weave in end securely.
Finishing
With black cotton thread, embroider the eyebrows angled above the eyes and between rnds 8 and
11, 9 sts apart.
Belly Button
Mark the spot where you want the belly button indent to be (between rnds 38 and 39). Insert
needle threaded with blush yarn into the bottom of the body and pull it through the marked st,
insert needle into the next st above and pull it out through the same st at the bottom of body
where first inserted. Pull the strands tight, tie a knot and weave in ends securely.
Snout
Rnd 1: With blush, form a slip ring, work 7 sc in ring, pull tail to close, join. (7 sc)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc inc in each st to end, join. (14 sc)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, (sc in next st, sc inc in next st) 7 times, join. (21 sc)
Rnd 5: Ch 1, working in back lp of each st, sc in each st to end, join.
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in first 14 sts, leave last 14 sts unworked. (14 sc)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff snout while sewing to the head between rnds 12
and 20. Position snout so the 14 sts of the last rnd are at the top and the sk sts are at the bottom of
head.
With black cotton thread, embroider 2 nostrils on front of snout.

Ear
Make 2.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, (sc in next 2 sts, sc inc in next st) twice, join. (8 sc)
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in each st to end, join.
Beg to work in rows.
Row 7: Flatten and work through both thicknesses to close ear, ch 1, sc in next 7 sts, turn. (7 sc)
Row 8: Ch 1, sc dec in first 2 sts, sc in next 3 sts, sc dec in last 2 sts, turn. (5 sc)
Row 9: Ch 1, sc dec in first 2 sts, sc in next st, sc dec in last 2 sts. (3 sc)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew each ear to top of head between rnds 4 and 5.
Arm
Make 2.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc inc in each st to end, join. (12 sc)
Rnds 3 & 4: Ch 1, sc in each st to end, join.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, (sc in next 4 sts, sc dec in next 2 sts) twice, join. (10 sc)
Rnd 6: Rep rnd 3.
Rnd 8: Rep rnd 3.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Lightly stuff each arm and sew to both sides of the
body between rnds 28 and 32.
Tail
Rnd 1: With blush, ch 9, starting in 2nd ch from hook, (3 sc in next ch) 8 times. (24 sc)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew tail to back of body between rnds 45 and 46.
Scarf
Row 1: With linen, ch 71, starting in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each ch to end, turn. (70 hdc)
Rows 2–6: Ch 1, working in back lp of each st, hdc to end, turn.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the two short sides of the scarf tog to create an
infinity scarf. Wrap the scarf around Petunia’s neck. •
