Student level: To enroll in ENGLISH 3 (BVL1003), students must achieve a B1+ score at a minimum on the
placement test administered by the UEL Institute of Foreign Languages during admission, or pass the
ENGLISH 2 (BVL1002) course.

2. Course description:
The goal of the English 3 course (EN33) is to help university students improve their English language
abilities, either for improved communication or to fulfill the English language requirements for their degree.
The course material is interesting, follows the Global Scale of English standards, and includes extra
resources for a more pleasurable learning experience. Enhancing fundamental language skills, such as
speaking, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, listening, writing, and functional communication, is the key
objective. The course provide sexercises on a variety of subjects, such as grammar, vocabulary, and
pronunciation, to encourage students. Through a variety of genres, including articles, reviews, reports, social
media, blogs, lectures, emails, letters, students can improve their reading, writing, and listening skills. The
emphasis of the course is on supporting competencies such as recognizing good and negative attitudes,
understanding cause and result, recognizing the major ideas in a text, also identifying details that support
key ideas, structuring thoughts, using paragraphs, stating the reasons, guessing meaning, and using temporal
expressions and linkers. Students’ comprehension of the language will improve as a result of training these
subskills.
