➢ With comparative adjectives we compare two things, two people, two places or two actions.

Superlative Adjectives
The best!
▪ We sometimes add –st, or -(i)est to the end of the adjective: tallest, largest, hottest, happiest etc….
▪ We sometimes add the most before the adjective: the most interesting, the most boring, etc….

➢ Irregular adjectives don't follow these rules. So, you must learn them individually.

Using ‘‘the’’
➢ When we use a superlative adjective ('the tallest student') before the noun, we generally use it with ‘the’.

2) Yesterday was ______________ day of the year. (hot)
1) Experiences and finished actions – Time is not important, not specific or not known
2) Unfinished actions – Things that started in the past, but are not finished
We can combine the present perfect with superlative sentences to talk about experiences:
Danny: What is the most beautiful country (that) you have visited?
Rudy: Thailand is the most beautiful country I have visited.
The present perfect is used with superlative forms of adjectives to express emphasis:
* we can use ever to talk about our whole life experiences. It just makes the sentence stronger.
