The root causes of trafficking are various and often differ from one country to another.
cultural and other factors. Many of these factors are specific to individual trafficking
patterns and to the States in which they occur. There are, however, many factors that tend
patterns or cases. One such factor is that the desire of potential victims to migrate is exploited
by offenders to recruit and gain initial control or cooperation, only to be replaced by more
coercive measures once the victims have been moved to another State or region of the
country, which may not always be the one to which they had intended to migrate.
Some of the common factors are local conditions that make populations want to migrate
in search of better conditions: poverty, oppression, lack of human rights, lack of social or
economic opportunity, dangers from conflict or instability and similar conditions. Political
instability, militarism, civil unrest, internal armed conflict and natural disasters may result
their vulnerability to exploitation and abuse through trafficking and forced labour. War and
civil strife may lead to massive displacements of populations, leaving orphans and street
These factors tend to exert pressures on victims that “push” them into migration and hence
into the control of traffickers, but other factors that tend to “pull” potential victims can
also be significant. Poverty and wealth are relative concepts which lead to both migration
and trafficking patterns in which victims move from conditions of extreme poverty to conditions of less-

The practice of entrusting poor children to more affluent friends or relatives may create vulnerability.
Some parents sell their children, not just for the money, but also in the hope
that their children will escape a situation of chronic poverty and move to a place where

Human trafficking is the illegal acquisition of labor or commercial sex against the person being trafficked.
Choosing this topic was a good idea, to spread awareness and also gain more knowledge. As an English
student some expected benefits of human trafficking are to improve researching and writing skills.
The video talks about causes of human trafficking and explains the causes. Undoubtedly Human

mothers are selling their kinds now a days that’s why there are a lot of victims in this world.
Reflection 2:
All of my three artefacts use formal language. Firstly the article contains formal language because it’s
grammer and spelling is on point which makes the reader understand it smoothly .
Secondly the first video “ What are the root causes of Human Trafficking” by FOCLonline also uses
formal language because the women talking on the video uses good good pronunciation of words and
Lastly the second video “Human Trafficking” By Ministry of Human Development contains formal
Working in groups is very helpful to many, personally it has helped me to interact more with others.
Other aspects that have made me a superior person would be the gaining of researching and typing
skills. Before getting in task with this SBA I used to type minimum of words per minute, but now I type
more words than before. On the other hand, my researching skills have improved, now I go in dept with
the information and try to use it in an effective way, I would normally just research for what I was
looking for and not go deep in it. My time management has for sure improved a lot, since now I get
things done on time and not wait for last minute. Working on this SBA has helped me in many ways like
being a more responsible, independent person and to get things done on time.
Written Report:
Three artifacts have been selected after careful analysis of various articles. These artifacts include a
document from the CT data collaborative “Means of Control Used on Adults and Children”, this image is
related to the question: “How are these victims used and why?” The next artifact is an article called “An
interview about surviving Human Trafficking: Margeaux Gray'' this has a related question which is: “How
do these victims escape?”. The last artifact is a video about “How Human Traffickers “Break” Their
Victims” by Exodus Cry, this article is related to the question: “How does this affect the victim mentally
and physically?” The first artifact, the CT data collaborative document shows how not only children but
also adults are used for trafficking, it also shows us how much these ways have been used. This helps us
learn that these victims are not used just for sexual intercourse but for various ways to get their way of
living. The second article about Margeaux Gray explains her personal experience as a victim, at the age
of 5 years old, of trafficking by a trusted adult, it tells us how she coped with the past trauma she has
gone through and how gives us advice on how society can help other victims throughout their healing
process. It helps us learn that we cannot trust people as much because we do not know what they could
be planning behind our backs, these people can be trusted by family members, friends, and even people
whom we don’t know. The third artifact of the Exodus Cry video shows how traffickers take away the
innocence of their victims, which should have been something special that they would have enjoyed
with the right person. These dreadful demons ruined their hopes and dreams forever.
Poem:
Human Trafficking such a cruel fate a devastating problem that no one can ignore and underestimate.
Poverty and inequality the root of the issue, people are vulnerable and that’s the sad truth.
Corruption and greed modern-days slavers exploiting the vulnerable using them as labourers.
Protect the vulnerable restore their freedom and rights The end of Human Trafficking a world where all
can thrive.
There is no mercy!
There is no forgiveness!
There is no love!
Human trafficking and slavery of the almighty dollar and no one seems to hear the screams and hollers.
