1 The first three Inspection or testing activity listed require 100 % participation by Consultant/Client. After this period, Consultant/Client may adjust the levels of Consultant/Client participation based upon the Contractor’s performance.

2 Surveillance: Client representative to monitor work in progress without notice from Construction Organization

3 Witness: Client representative shall be notified of the timing of Inspection or test in advance. However, the inspection or test shall be performed as scheduled if the QA/QC client representative is not present.

4 Hold: QA/QC organization shall be notified of the timing of inspection or test in advance. Inspection or test shall not be carried out without the QA/QC client representative in attendance.

B Ground Rod

The bare copper/copper clad steel ground rod shall have

a minimum diameter of 14.2 mm or, as per design
B1 calculations and a minimum length of 1.2 m. The ground
rod shall be of the sectional type equipped with suitable
couplings and driving studs. GRP Specs. SECTION 26

The material of ground rods shall have a pure copper

covering, permanently joined to a high-strength steel
B2
core. The steel core shall have sufficient rigidity for easily
driving into the ground with a hammer or mechanical

The actual diameter of the copper-clad steel rod shall

not be less than 14.2 mm (unthreaded) or as per design

C Grounding and Bonding Cables

Grounding and bonding cable types shall be as indicated

and drawings

Conductors shall be either insulated or bare, used as grid

conductors, grounding electrode conductors, equipment
ground conductors, or bonding conductors in the

Grounding and bonding conductors shall be soft

annealed solid or concentric-lay stranded bare copper
C3 class B, 600 V, in accordance with ASTM B3 and B8.

Wire and cable earthing conductors shall accord with the

following:
1. Material copper - only copper wire for both insulated
and bare earthing conductors in direct contact with earth,
concrete, masonry, crushed stone and similar material.
2. Equipment earthing conductors: Insulated with
green/yellow colour insulation.
3. Earthing electrode conductors: Standard copper
