    90 degree hair cut

    Authentic assessment

    Assemble tools
    Prepare station for service.

    Section
    Comb hair down into natural fall Create a four section parting.

    Cut design in back


    Cut back perimeter guide.

    Cut design in front


    Connect ear to back. Establish front guide and connect to ear.

    Interior guide
    Cut guide approximately 4 at apex (crown) (Note: make this cut down the center part line)

    Establish interior guide


    Continue cutting guideline to front hairline

    Interior guide cont.


    Return to apex and cut from crown to nape

    Blend top to design line


    Stand behind the section and begin cutting at the side section nearest the hairline. (Note: if left handed begin on the right and if right handed begin on the left) Use vertical parting and blend top guide to design line.

    Continue layering
    (Note: remember student must cut from top to bottom during this procedure) Continue until cut is completed. (Note: insure that student maintains a constant 90 degree elevation.)

    Precaution
    Student must maintain a traveling guide to maintain uniform layers.

    Cross check
    Perform cross check for accuracy.

    Finishing the cut


    Check perimeter guide and finish as necessary.

    Final check
    Check cut for accuracy by cutting from bottom to top beginning on the opposite side of the head.

    Final checking point


    Judges will look to see that the finished cut was uniformly blended.

    Blowdry
    Blowdry using no tools other that your fingers. Finished to match the photo.

    Completion
    Clean up Organize station

    Precaution
    Total points 200 All points must be awarded or no points. Steps must be done in order to receive points.
