TERTIARY EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROJECT

PROJECT DESIGN

I. Rationale

One such pressing concern about the welfare of the youth in Barangay Handong
is the of youth to reach college education caused by a wide range of reasons, one
of which is the financial incapability of parents.

Acknowledging, nevertheless, the importance of education as the most


empowering gift to the young, this barangay adopts policies on prioritization of
education among services intended for the youth sector.

SK Barangay Handong set aside not less than 20% of the annual 10% SK Share
of this barangay shall be allocated annually for educational services and not
less than 50% of such educational services allocation shall be earmarked
solely for Barangay Handong Tertiary Educational Assistance Project
(BAHATEDAP).

The 1st semester of School Year 2020-2021 which starts on August and ends on
my calls for the implementation of this intervention.

II. Objectives

This Tertiary Educational Assistance Project (TEAP) intends to realize the dream
of poor but deserving high school graduates to pursue college education.

Specifically, the project aims to:

a. Increase the percentage of college graduates in Barangay Handong;

b. Provide financial assistance to qualified college students enrolled in


Private or State Universities or Colleges;

c. Assist every poor family to have college graduate;

d. Uplift the financial status of every poor family by means of an employable


professional among its members.

III. Semestral Coverage

This project covers the first semester of 2020-2021 school year which starts on
August and ends on December.

IV. Student Recipients

Based on Section 4 of SK Resolution No.8 series of 2020, which prescribes


guidelines on the qualifications for student-recipients, and based on the
requirements (Grades, Assessment Form, Biodata, Identification Card, Brgy.
Clearance) for the purpose of determining priority recipients based on their
intellectual abilities, the following college students shall be entitled to the
financial assistance, viz;

V. Forms of Assistance
For the financial assistance shall be granted to the student-recipients:
a. Semester Allowance

The Semester Allowance shall be given not later than the 15th day of the end of
the semester from August to December, 2020.

Based on the financial situation of the families of the recipients, the following
amounts of allowances shall be granted, viz;

VI. Budgetary Requirements
To defray the cost of the project for the second semester of the school year 2020-
2021, the amount of One Hundred Thousand Pesos (P100, 000.00) shall be allocated from
the 10% SK Share from the Barangay Funds.

VII. Monitoring

The impact of the project shall be evaluated and its progress monitored by the
Barangay Evaluation and Monitoring Team.
