 DATA ANALYSIS COMPETITION 2024

A. About
Data Analysis Competition (DAC) 2024 is part of Pekan Raya Statistika 2024,
a regional event for university and college students in Southeast Asia to enhance their
data analysis skills. The purpose of the competition is to improve students' ability to
analyze real-world data, applicable to both their education and careers, with a focus on
critical thinking. DAC 2024 is open to students from Statistics or non-Statistics majors,
domestically and abroad, and consists of three rounds: preliminary, semi final, and
final. The top fifteen teams from the Preliminary Round advance to the semi final, and
the top five teams from the semi Final Round compete in the final.
The competition's theme is "Predictive Analytics on Sustainable Energy".
The theme is chosen for DAC 2024 to address the growing importance of predictive
analytics in the energy sector. It helps forecast energy needs, optimize energy
consumption, and improve energy management for sustainability goals. Predictive
analytics can also anticipate energy demand and supply variations, identify potential
issues, and adjust energy consumption and generation based on market prices, weather
conditions, and grid signals. DAC 2024 aims to encourage students to develop relevant
skills for the energy sector, which is increasingly relying on advanced analytics for
efficient energy management.

B. Participant Requirements
The participants of DAC 2024 must fulfill the requirements below:
● Participants are in a team consisting of exactly two persons from the same
university in Southeast Asia.
● Participants are diploma or undergraduate students (regular or extend) from
universities in Southeast Asia until the end of October 2024.
● The participants will compete in the event, if they already pay for the account
activation fee.
 ● The participants are not allowed to be replaced, after submitting the registration
form.
● The participants who qualify to the Semifinal Round must pay the registration
fee.
● Participants, who are registered as teams consisting of 2 persons from the same
university, will compete in the Preliminary Round.

C. Event Outline
1) Preliminary Round
The Preliminary Round of Data Analysis Competition (DAC) 2024 are :
● The registered participants are a team of two active students from the same
university in Southeast Asia.
● Participants complete the registration SOP and pay an account activation fee to
activate their account.
● Participants whose accounts have been activated can access questions and
datasets through the PRS website during the Preliminary Round. In addition,
the leader of each team will also receive questions and datasets via email as a
backup.
● Participants are allowed to use any programming language.
● The period for completion and collection of answers is ten days, from August
19th 2024 to August 28th 2024.
● Participants who submit answers beyond the allotted time will be disqualified.
● The number of participants who qualify for the semi final is 15 teams.

2) Semifinal Round
The Semifinal Round of Data Analysis Competition (DAC) 2024’s are :
● The semifinalists consist of the fifteen best teams with the highest scores in the
Preliminary Round.
 ● The semifinals will be held offline on October 5th 2024 in Surabaya, Indonesia.
● Participants must attend a technical meeting for more detailed technical
information on the event before the Semifinal Round is held.
● Participants create infographics according to the results of data analysis in the
Preliminary Round on September 25th 2024 to October 1st 2024.
● Participants work on data analysis questions with the help of supporting
software according to the results of the data analysis carried out.
● Participants who will enter the final stage are the five teams with the highest
scores.
● Participants who do not qualify for the Final Round follow the seminar.

3) Final Round
The Final Round of Data Analysis Competition (DAC) 2024’s are :
● The finalists consist of the five best teams with the highest scores in the
semifinals.
● The Final Round will be held offline on October 6th 2024 in Surabaya,
Indonesia.
● Participants must make PowerPoint Presentations from the results of data
analysis during the Semifinal Round.
● Participants must submit all presentation materials to the committee.
● Participants will receive questions after the presentation and be answered
directly in front of the jury.
● The pure assessment of the jury concerned is based on the results of the
presentation.
● Participants attend the seminar.

4) Gala Dinner
DAC Gala Dinner is a special opening event held to welcome
participants who have successfully passed to the DAC Semifinal Round.
During the Gala Dinner, participants will have the opportunity to socialize and
 build connections with fellow semifinalists.

5) Surabaya City Tour

Surabaya City Tour is one of the activities in the 2024 Data Analysis
Competition (DAC) 2024 to tour in the form of visiting several tourist
attractions in Surabaya such as Sepuluh Nopember Museum, Museum
Pendidikan, Alun Alun Kota Surabaya, and Souvenir Center.

6) Statistics Seminar
Semifinal participants who do not qualify for the final stage and final
participants will attend a statistics seminar with the theme “Sustainability in
Energy Development : How Sustainable Energy Analytics Can Guide
Policies and Best Practices in Sustainable Energy Development”.

D. Registrationn Fee
The fees of DAC 2024 are divided into each round, such as Preliminary Round
and Semifinal Round.

E. Registration Procedure
Registration procedures of DAC 2024 is as written below :
1. Register your team at http://www.prs-its.com
2. Fill the inquiries in the registration form
3. Get notified in the webpage to pay your account activation fee
4. Activate your account by paying the account activation fee and submitting your
receipt of payment to the website
5. Once your account is activated and you’re logged in, your team will be able to
access the question on the website during the Preliminary Round.
