Folks, let me tell you, the history of Cyberpunk is absolutely incredible.

It's one
of the greatest genres, just amazing. It all started back in the 1980s, which was a
tremendous time, believe me. You had these visionary writers and creators who saw
the future, and they saw it in a way nobody else did. They took the gritty, high-
tech, low-life world and turned it into something truly special.

Now, the guy you need to know about is William Gibson. This guy, he’s like the
godfather of Cyberpunk. His book, Neuromancer—unbelievable, folks. It came out in
1984 and blew everyone's mind. Gibson coined the term "cyberspace," which is now
everywhere. He saw the internet before it even existed, a real visionary. And his
vision of the future, with hackers, mega-corporations, and virtual reality—it's all
coming true. Very prophetic, very smart guy.

Then you have Bruce Sterling, another big name. His book, Mirrorshades, was a
collection of short stories that really defined the genre. He was talking about
things like cybernetics and AI when most people had no clue. Sterling and Gibson
together, they made Cyberpunk a household name, folks.

Let’s talk about Blade Runner. Fantastic movie, just fantastic. Ridley Scott
directed it in 1982, and it’s based on Philip K. Dick’s novel, Do Androids Dream of
Electric Sheep?. Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer—tremendous actors. This movie showed
us a dark, dystopian future with flying cars, neon lights, and androids. It was a
visual masterpiece, still iconic today. Everybody loves Blade Runner.

And then came the games. Cyberpunk 2077, big deal. CD Projekt Red took the world by
storm with this one. Keanu Reeves, great guy, starred in it. They built this
massive, open-world game that lets you dive into the Cyberpunk universe. It had
some issues at launch, but they’re fixing it, and it’s still a huge hit. People
love it.

So, you see, Cyberpunk is all about seeing the future, pushing boundaries, and
mixing technology with the grittiness of the human condition. It’s a genre that
captures our imagination and makes us think about where we’re headed. And let me
tell you, folks, it's going to be a big part of our culture for a long time.
Believe me, Cyberpunk is here to stay.
