assists organization to manage information dynamically

industry to facilitate the distribution of travel-related

• GDS systems are essential tools that connect travel
providers (such as airlines, hotels, car rental companies,
and cruise lines) with travel agencies, tour operators, and
other travel professionals.
Global Distribution Systems
• Global Distribution Systems provides a centralized
platform for travel agents to access and book a wide
range of travel services, including flights, hotel
accommodations, car rentals, and more. It allowed for
real-time availability checks, pricing comparisons, and
reservation management.
Amadeus
• Amadeus is a global technology company that
specializes in providing solutions for the travel and
tourism industry.
• Founded in 1987, Amadeus has become one of the
world's leading providers of technology solutions and
services for the travel sector.
• It refers to the reservation tool travel agents use when
making an air, hotel, car or other travel service
booking. Amadeus is the leading GDS for the travel
industry.
Galileo
• Galileo GDS (Global Distribution System) was a
prominent computer reservation system and GDS used
in the travel and tourism industry. However, Galileo is
no longer an independent GDS.
• It was acquired by Travelport, a leading travel
technology company, in 2001.
• Travelport merged the Galileo GDS with its Worldspan
GDS in 2006 to form a unified global distribution
system.

• Worldspan was a global distribution system (GDS) that
provided technology solutions and services to the
travel and tourism industry.
• It played a significant role in facilitating the distribution
of travel-related products and services, connecting
travel professionals, including travel agencies, airlines,
hotels, and car rental companies.
