“CATCH-UP FRIDAYS: A PROVISION OF READING OPPORTUNITY”
I. RATIONALE
REGION IX
SIOCON DISTRICT
As stipulated in the DepEd Memorandum No. 0001, s. 2024 entitled the

Implementation of Catch-Up Fridays, the department implements the
Catch-Up Fridays starting January 12, 2024, across elementary and
secondary schools and community learning centers (CLCs) nationwide.
Catch-up Fridays is a learning mechanism intended to strengthen the
foundational, social, and other relevant skills necessary to actualize the
intent of the basic education curriculum.
Through this department’s initiative, the teachers will have the time to
focus on the struggling readers by providing them the interesting and
engaging reading activities. Also, in enhancing the students’ reading skills,
the teachers will have to use various strategies to achieving effectiveness
along the reading process. Truly, this program will help the students in
enhancing their performance academically.
II. OBJECTIVE
The objective of this proposal is to:
1. Provide effective reading opportunities for struggling readers through
engaging reading activities with integral approach.
IV. BUDGETTING
