Answer all of the questions below using the results of the evaluation in section 1 to guide your answers,
and feedback from your classmates/friends/family for parts c and d.

a) Document your findings on yourself in the four areas focussed on in your evaluation in section 1
as discuss your strongest area.

I approved my strengths and areas for improvement in Section 1's evaluation:

I had strong sensitivity for colleagues' and clients' feelings and was willing to help them in
difficult situations.
I scored moderately in self-regulation, yet I can manage my emotions, especially in
challenging situations. Maintaining emotional equilibrium can be improved.
Cheerful: I scored highly in optimism, staying cheerful and motivating myself and others
despite setbacks.
My adaptability score was moderate, meaning I can adapt to workplace changes but could do
better at accepting and thriving in new conditions.

better at accepting and thriving in new conditions.

Strongest Area: My inherent ability to understand and assist others emotionally improves team
dynamics and client connections.

b) Reflecting on the results, identify what stood out for you in terms of what it tells you about yourself
as a person.

The validation of my heightened capacity for empathy is what struck me most when I looked at the
outcomes. As a result, I am even more confident that the key to successful interpersonal interactions
and teamwork is developing an emotional knowledge of and connection to other people. The
assessment also showed that I need to work on my self-regulation and adaptation so that I can better
handle change and obstacles.

c) Thinking about the questions asked as part of the evaluation and your learnings as part of this
unit, identify five of your emotional strengths.

These evaluation questions and unit learnings led me to identify five emotional strengths:
Empathy: Understanding and supporting others' feelings.
Resilience: Ability to overcome obstacles and stay hopeful.
Communication: Expressing thoughts and feelings.
Work effectively with others and create teamwork.
Adjustability: Flexibility to changing events and settings.

d) Thinking about the questions asked as part of the evaluation and your learning as part of this unit,
identify five of your emotional weaknesses.

Five emotional flaws emerged from the evaluation questions and this unit's learning:
Impatience: Trouble staying calm in stressful conditions.
Perfectionism: Setting unattainable goals for myself and others.
Conflict avoidance: Trouble working out interpersonal issues.
Oversensitivity to criticism or negative feedback.
Time Management: Trouble prioritising and managing workload.

BSBPEF502 PROJECT PORTFOLIO 7

e) Explain how you believe the emotional strengths you have identified above help your workplace
performance and relationships.

My career and relationships benefit from my emotional strengths, such as empathy, resilience,
communication, teamwork, and adaptability.
Empathy helps me comprehend coworkers' viewpoints, improving communication and
teamwork. It improves teamwork and relationships by building trust and support.
Resilience: Helps me overcome obstacles, stay positive, and enhance workplace productivity
and morale.
Increases communication clarity and reduces misunderstandings and confrontations.
Teamwork becomes more transparent and understanding.
Collaboration fosters creative problem-solving and shared success. It fosters teamwork.
Adaptability: Helps me handle change and uncertainty. It helps preserve productivity and
efficiency by enabling quick adaptations.

f) Discuss how you believe your emotional weaknesses hinder your workplace performance and
relationships.

Impatience, perfectionism, conflict avoidance, over-sensitivity, and time management concerns can
hurt my work and relationships.
Impatience: Can cause rash decisions, misunderstandings, and workplace confrontations.
This can cause conflict and inhibit teamwork.
Perfectionism can cause tension, procrastination, and discontent. It can cause missed
deadlines and team conflict.
Conflict Avoidance: This may keep me from resolving difficulties, causing tensions. It hampers
team communication and trust.
Oversensitivity: Taking criticism personally can lead to defensiveness and bitterness. My
capacity to accept constructive criticism and collaborate may suffer.
Time Management: Can cause stress, missed deadlines, and poor work-life balance. Delayed
or missing commitments reduce productivity and strain relationships with coworkers.

g) Complete the following table about personal stressors at work. Identify at least four sources of
stress that are most likely to result in workplace stress for you, your stress response (emotional,
physical, behavioural) and actions that you can take (or have taken) to manage stress.
The table includes examples only, as there could be a wide range of responses from students.
