Statement of Purpose

Technology has been successful in melding its elements in our regular lives and with the
immense possibilities the domain promises, it has grasped the attention of several enthusiasts
of the field, me being among them. Ever since I was a child, I was completely in awe of that
limited screen, which signified an entire world within its limits, and as I grew up, I explored
its exponential possibilities. Since technology is an ever-evolving concept and keeping up
with contemporary technologies is a cherished ability of the professionals of the field, I look
to expand my intellect and expertise with an advanced course of Master’s in Computer
Science from your prestigious institution and help build my competence as a prominent
member of the field.
I have always been an artistic child and have polished the skills of singing and dancing ever
since. Participating in these activities helps me work out my pent-up energy and allows me to
better concentrate on my academia. Additionally, I have also tried to be physically active and
to that end participated in throwball and even won a district cup in the sport on an
inter-school level. I have always strived to be a diligent and assiduous student throughout my
educational career, and this perseverance of mine has been well reflected in my academic
grades. I was able to complete my secondary and higher secondary education with astounding
grades of 9.8 and 9.85 respectively. These foundational degrees helped me in gaining a basic
understanding of subjects like Mathematics, the fundamentals of which turned out to be
immensely useful in my future pursuit.
Upon completion of my higher secondary education, I was determined to pursue a career in
the field of technology. With this ambition in mind, I enrolled in a Bachelor of Technology
program in Computer Science at SRM University. This program helped me develop a strong
aptitude for the components of computer hardware and software and their eventual
implementation in the real world. With an inherent motivation to materialize my learnings, I
undertook various independent and group projects throughout my undergraduate course
which helped me gain a more detailed understanding of my subjects. One of the projects that
I worked on was a Retail Store Management System where I developed and managed a
database for a retail store using MySQL in the 5th semester of my degree and my creative
ideologies combined with the enigma of technology resulted in an immaculate success.
Being inspired by the appreciation I received for my work on the project I have worked on
multiple projects lately, among which was the Hamming code using Socket Programming
which indeed was a group project and here I helped establish communication between client
and server through socket programming and even implemented the hamming code which was
quite a complex task but with my determined attitude, I carried it out with sufficient ease. Yet
another notable project was FaceAtt: Attendance using facial recognition, a full stack project
where the key features were recording employee attendance using face recognition,
maintaining attendance records and displaying the respective records on each employee's
portal page. Me and my teammates had worked assiduously to establish a connection
between frontend and database and got a good knowledge about software projects, database
maintenance etc. Along with these, I have worked on other mini projects like Temperature
Converter, Message to QR converter in Python, Calculator using Python, Web Page creation
using HTML, CSS etc., and on their completion I received an OBISIP certification.
Additionally, I've actively participated in a research project titled 'Object Detection Using
Hybrid Machine Learning' and submitted the paper to various academic journals, including
IEEE, IJSREM, IJEEE, and IJASREM. I'm pleased to share that the paper has received
approval and is currently in the process of publication in the IJSREM journal, identified by
the Paper ID: IJSREM25304.

Apart from my academic interests, I have a strong penchant to learn more about new cultures
and languages which is why I took Japanese as an elective in my 6th semester and even
scored an A+ grade in the language. Moreover, I even volunteered to help with the activities
carried out by the fashion club which helped me develop the necessary communication and
teamwork skills. I also enjoy listening to music and dancing and have participated in various
competitions and functions and received several awards for my performance in the same.
Participating in these activities has helped with the holistic development of my personality
and I intend to participate in similar activities during my time at your esteemed institution.
I have always been a more practical-oriented person and try to implement my learnings for
better apprehension. This is why following my regulated course, I sought out educational
opportunities and received one at my institution itself as an Undergraduate Research Intern in
this role, I majorly worked with ML-based localization of IoT devices and researched why
GPS is not suitable for tracking the position of IoT devices and am currently working towards
finding a solution for the same. In addition to my work in IoT localization, I also had the
opportunity to contribute as a Research Intern on a project involving Biometric
Authentication using EEG signals where I helped with the design of the system and integrate
its real-world applications. I look forward to learning more about contemporary technologies
and emulating them in my course of work for which an advanced course would
ideally prepare me.
The Villanova University, USA is one of the most distinguished educational institutions in the
country as well as the world and their persistence towards imparting quality courses is really
what took me by surprise. The offered course of MS in Computer Science speaks to the
contemporary advancements made in the field and assesses its consequent influence on
society. The course would help me in analyzing the challenges faced by the industry and
would prepare me to overcome the same using strategic solutions. The prominent faculty at
the institution encompasses some of the most reputed personalities and researchers in the
field, interacting with whom would help with my intellectual advancement. The innovative
labs at the institution consist of some extremely modernistic and progressive equipment and I
intend to use them to carry out various infra projects and demonstrate my creativity and
efficiency regarding the subject using their help. Further, courses like Compute Systems,
Theory of computability, and Computer Graphics would help me develop the requisite skills
to effectively handle convoluted mechanisms and technologies in today’s date.
Upon the completion of the course, I wish to associate myself with recognized IT
corporations and tech giants where I will get the chance to work towards the advancement of
technology. Using my gained intellect and expertise, I would try to pave an innovative path in
the Indian IT sector and make an eminent name for myself there.
