Narrative Report A small praise with trees is equal to all philosophies

and Highlights of life as life exist on Earth because of trees. Trees
are among the greatest natural wonder and among
with two essential things in life. The sad reality is
that humans continue destroying trees without
realizing the effects in the future. For this reason we
believe that planting trees is important to save our
Mother Earth.

School tree planting activity is an eye opener that

allows the students, parents, stakeholders and
other participants to be knowledgeable with the
benefits of trees and foster environmental
stewardship. Tree planting is a great way to
increase students’interest in their local environment
and achieve academic goals. Each school tree
planting provides educators with the opportunity to
inspire school administrators, faculty and learners
to affect positive change at their schools and in
turn, their communities.

When students plant trees, they can see for

themselves the structure of trees; learn what they
need and how they grow. Teachers, together with
the participants can use the planting process to
discuss the benefits trees provide, while including
many subjects that their classes are studying.

Since learning should be contextualized, the school

enthusiastically conducted the said activity.

To come up with a successful tree planting activity,

school plan out and crafted program of activities.
The school located and identified planting site
where to plant trees or replace dead seedlings with
the new one. The school sent communication letters
to concerned stakeholders to attend the activity. It
was indeed overwhelming for the school because
the invited stakeholders confirmed their 100%
participation.

The school also sent a request letter to the

Municipal Agriculturist for the seedlings. The
Municipal Agriculture Office sent 50 grafted Cacao
seedlings.

During the conduct of the activity, the participants

had been oriented on the importance of the activity
and how are they going to make it a successful one.

After they planted the cacao seedlings they clean

the surroundings of the newly planted trees and
remove unwanted bushes. And to make sure that
the trees will be protected tree guards were
prepared and guarded the newly planted trees.

This tree planting activity is a learning opportunity

to let the school stakeholders get involved in the
environment and conservation of our natural
resources. Furthermore, the school stakeholders
become aware that they can play a role in
protecting the environment through personal
involvement. Ultimately, it is hoped that the
experience will help them make intelligent decisions
about conservation and use our valuable natural
resources.

Monitoring and The Tree Planting Activity was headed by the

Evaluation School Head Estela L. Cabelin. It was monitored
and supervised by the school head itself. Its
objective was carried out thru the immeasurable
effort and cooperation of the teachers, learners,
parents and other stakeholders.
Expected Outputs 1. Raise the awareness in the community about
the importance of planting and saving trees.
2. Express our concern for the environment.
3. Diminish the unfavourable effects of climate
change.
4. Provide at least 60 newly planted trees.

Recommendations The community plays a significant role in our

greening, and tree management work. The
Greening, Landscape and Tree Management
Section will mount a variety of community
involvement and public education activities for
various target groups to foster an attitude of
greening the environment and care for trees
across the territory. These activity include roving
exhibition, school talks and seminars can be of
big help for a successful conduct of such useful
activity.
