2HS01-PROFESSIONAL SOFT SKILLS : PRESENTED BY SHYAM RAMANI AND PRIT VADODARIA

The environment must be
maintained in order to protect the
survival of life in the future.

WHAT IS ENVIRONMENTAL
RESPONSIBLITIES ?
• Environmental responsibility refers to the duty that
individuals, organizations, and governments have to protect
and improve the environment. It involves making conscious
decisions that prevent environmental degradation and
promote sustainability.
• It's about living in a way that minimizes the negative impact
on our surroundings, for future generations.

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT ?
• Climate change, deforestation, and pollution are growing
threats to biodiversity and human health.
• Environmental responsibility ensures sustainable use of
natural resources and helps to mitigate the effects of climate
change.
• Maintaining ecological balance is critical for future
generations to have access to clean air, water, and food.

ROLE OF GOVERNMENT

• Governments establish environmental laws to

regulate pollution, deforestation, and resource
use, holding corporations and individuals
accountable. Key policies like the Clean Air Act,
Clean Water Act, and renewable energy laws
promote sustainability, with penalties and
monitoring ensuring compliance.

• International cooperation is crucial for addressing

global environmental challenges. Agreements like
the Paris Climate Accord target limiting global
warming, while the Kyoto and Montreal Protocols
focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and
protecting the ozone layer.

ROLE OF CORPORATES

• Companies play a key role in reducing their carbon

footprint by using eco-friendly materials, reducing waste,
and adopting renewable energy. Corporate social
responsibility (CSR) initiatives and ESG (Environmental,
Social, and Governance) frameworks guide businesses
toward sustainable practices and pollution reduction.

• Industries like manufacturing, agriculture, and energy

significantly contribute to environmental degradation,
with fossil fuels causing high greenhouse gas emissions
and manufacturing linked to pollution and deforestation.
However, transitions to cleaner practices, such as electric
vehicles and renewable energy, showcase positive
corporate responsibility.
SAVE ENVIRONTMENT

ROLE OF INDIVIDUAL

• Individuals can reduce their environmental

impact through simple actions like reducing
plastic use, recycling, conserving water, using
energy-efficient appliances, and choosing
sustainable transportation. While small, these
habits collectively lead to significant
environmental benefits.

• Collective action has a strong impact, as seen in

community efforts like clean-ups and tree
planting, and global movements like Fridays for
Future and Earth Hour. Such participation helps
raise awareness and drive systemic
environmental change.
CONCLUSION
AND HERE WE CONCLUDE THAT ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY REQUIRES
EFFORTS FROM ALL LEVELS OF SOCIETY—GOVERNMENTS, BUSINESSES, INDIVIDUALS,
AND ORGANIZATIONS. COLLECTIVE ACTIONS, SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES, AND STRONG
POLICIES ARE ESSENTIAL FOR MITIGATING ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE. TOGETHER,
WE CAN CREATE SIGNIFICANT POSITIVE CHANGE AND SECURE A SUSTAINABLE
FUTURE FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.
