1. Introduction to Artificial Intelligence

SESSION 1: INTRODUCTION TO AI AND RELATED TERMINOLOGIES

1.1 INTRODUCTION
AI is gaining the spotlight across applications in our personal and professional lives.

1.1.1FOUNDATIONAL CONCEPTS OF AI

 Autonomous Systems
 Machine Learning
 Deep Learning
 Neural Networks
 Pattern Recognition
 Natural Language Processing
 Chatbots
1.2 WHAT IS INTELLIGENCE?
Intelligence refers to the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills in various
domains.
 Faculty of understanding
 Ability to interact with the real world
 Capacity of learning, reasoning and understanding e.g., recognizing speech,
recognizing objects and images
 Application of acquired knowledge e.g., ability to take actions: to have an effect
 Aptitude in grasping truths, feels, meaning etc.
 Mental alertness
 Using mental capacity and knowledge for decisions
1.3 ROLE OF INTELLIGENCE IN OUR LIVES
INTELLIGENCE PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN OUR LIVES. Even animals have shown to
use intelligence to solve some problems or to improve their lives.

1.4 Types of Intelligence

1. Linguistic Intelligence

2. Musical Intelligence

3. Logical-mathematical Intelligence

4. Spatial Intelligence
5. Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence

6. Intra-personal Intelligence

7. Interpersonal Intelligence

8. Naturalistic Intelligence

9. Existential Intelligence

1.5 WHAT IS DECISION-MAKING

Decision-making is an important task of a human brain but how can the brain decide
what is right and wrong. We performs task every day in our life and in all the tasks we perform
our brain play an important role in making the decision. Decision-making means selection of an
item or action or belief out of several possible alternate options.

1.6 Role of intelligence in decision-making

 Data/information
 Relationships among data/information
 Past experience of handling similar situation or data/information
 Understanding and knowledge
 Our intuition and self-awareness

1.7WHAT IS AI?

Artificial intelligence refers to a human-made interface having the power to reason and
integrate knowledge and behave in the same way a naturally intelligent entity would behave.

1.8 WHAT AI IS NOT?

 AI is not just automation

 Ai is not a single entity
 Ai is not emotions
 Ai is not magic

1.9 HOW MACHINE BECOME INTELLIGENT?

 Machine Learning: The branch of AI that teaches a machine how to make inferences and
decisions based on past experience.
 Deep Learning: The branch of AI that teaches a machine to process inputs through
layers in order to classify, infer and predict the outcome.
 Neural Networks: the branch of AI works similar to human neural networks where
multiple layers capture relationships among data and process them as per the need.
 Natural Language Processing: the branch of AI teaches a machine to read, understand
and interpret a natural language, and provide a response in a natural language.
 Computer Vision: The branch of AI that helps machine recognize a n image by breaking
down an image and studding different parts of the objects.

SESSION 2: DOMAINS AND TECHNOLOGIES

2.1 INTRODUCTION

Domains of AI (Data, computer vision and Natural language processing)

2.2 AI TECHNOLOGIES

AI refers to a set of technologies that enables machines to perform with

human like intelligence.

1. Artificial Intelligence(AI)

AI is an umbrella discipline that covers everything related to making

machines smarter. AI enables machines to think without any human
intervention.

2. Machine Learning(ML)

Machine learning is branch of AI that enables machine to automatically

learn and improve at tasks with experience and by the use of data.

3. Deep Learning(DL)

Deep learning is a subset of machine learning where learning takes place

through examples. Deep learning computer-models filter the input data using
many layers and rules-based algorithms to predict and classify information.
Tasks like speech and image recognition are performed through deep learning
systems.

2.3DOMAINS OF AI
1. Data (Data science)
2. Computer Vision
3. NLP (Natural Language Processing)

SESSION 3: AI APPLICATIONS

3.1REAL LIFE AI APPLICATIONS

1. AI in Healthcare
2. AI in Content Creation
3. Ai in Chatbots and Virtual Assistants
4. AI in Autonomous Vehicles
5. AI in GPS( Global Positioning Systems)
6. AI in Sales and Marketing
7. AI in Logistics and supply Chain
8. AI in Gaming
9. AI in Agriculture
10.AI in Robotics
