Alicia’s diary has a rapid paced plot in which events take no delay in occurring.

After falling in love and feeling guilty for lying to Caroline, Charles and Caroline enter an illicit marriage without her knowledge.
After the marriage we see Charles unhappy, eventually witness his detachment from the commitment and as he leaves. Later on, It is reported that he drowned himself months later.
After Charles departs, it is said that he drowned himself months later. Alicia expresses regret in private and lets all the readers know that all the people who were involved in deceiving caroline have repented
