No. Of Judges As Fixed By Act Of Parliament Appointment Chief Justice Of Pak And Judges Of Supreme Court Appointed By President Qualification Citizen Of Pakistan, And Judge Of High Court For Atleast 5 Years Or Advocate Of High Court For Atleast 15 Years Oath Of Office Chief Justice Of Pak Infront Of President Other Supreme Court Judges Infront Of Chief Justice Of Pak Retiring Age Supreme Court Judge Shall Hold Office Upto Age Of 65 Years Unless Sooner Resigns Or Removed From Office Acting Chief If Office Vacant Or Justice Of Pak Absent Or Unable To Perform His Functions Most Senior Judge Of Supreme Court Appointed By President To Act Acting Judge Of If Office Vacant Or Supreme Court Absent Or Unable To Perform His Functions Judge Of High Court (Qualified For Appointment) Appointed By President To Act Ad Hoc Judges If Necessary To Increase Temporary No. Of Judges Chief Justice Of Pak In Consultation With Judicial Commission And With Approval Of President Request Person Who Had Previously Held Office Of Judge Of Supreme Court With Consent Of Chief Justice Of High Court, Request A Judge Of High Court Qualified For Appointment To Attend Sittings Of Supreme Court As Ad Hoc Judge Seat Of Supreme Permanent Seat At Islamabad Court At Any Other Place As Chief Justice Of Pak May Appoint Original Only Supreme Court Have Original Jurisdiction In Any Dispute Between The Jurisdiction Governments Supreme Court Shall Pronounce Declaratory Judgements Only. The Supreme Court Shall Have The Power To Make An Order Of The Nature If It Considers That A Question Of Public Importance Regarding Enforcement Of Fundamental Rights Is Involved. Appellate The Supreme Court Shall Have Jurisdiction To Hear Appeals From Jurisdiction Judgements, Final Orders Or Sentences Of A High Court. In Following Circumstances An Appeal Shall Lie To The Supreme Court From Any Judgement, Final Order Or Sentence Of A High Court:

If The High Court Has On Appeal Reversed An Order Of Acquittal Of
An Accused Person And Sentenced Him To Death Or Imprisonment For Life Or On Revision Has Enhanced A Sentence The High Court Has Taken A Case From A Lower Court To Be Tried By Itself, And During The Trial It Found The Accused Person Guilty Of The Charges, And The High Court Has Given A Punishment To The Accused As Previously Described If The High Court Has Imposed Any Punishment On Any Person For Contempt Of The High Court The Value Of The Dispute In The Trial Court As Well As The First Appellate Court Must Be At Least Fifty Thousand Rupees Or Another Amount Specified By Parliament, And The Decision Made By The First Appellate Court Must Have Changed The Original Decision Made By The Court Of First Instance (The Trial Court) If The Judgment Involves A Dispute Or Issue Related To Property Of The Like Amount Or Value, And The Judgment Being Challenged Has Overturned The Judgement Made By A Lower Court. If The High Court Declares That The Case Involves A Significant Question Of Law Regarding The Interpretation Of The Constitution. For Cases Not Covered Above, Appeals From High Court Decisions To The Supreme Court Can Only Proceed If The Supreme Court Itself Gives Permission (Grants Leave) For The Appeal. Advisory If The President Thinks That It Is Desirable To Obtain The Opinion Of The Jurisdiction Supreme Court He May Refer The Question To The Supreme Court For Consideration, On Any Question Of Law Which He Considers Of Public Importance. The Supreme Court Shall Consider Such Question And Report Its Opinion On The Question To The President. Power To The Supreme Court May Transfer Cases Pending Before Any High Court To Transfer Cases Any Other High Court If It Considers It Suitable To Do So Review Of The Supreme Court Shall Have Power To Review Any Judgment Or Order Judgments/Order Made By It. By The Supreme Court Decisions Binding Any Decision Of The Supreme Court Shall Be Binding On All Other Courts On Other Courts In Pakistan, To The Extent That It Decides A Question Of Law Or Is Based Upon A Principle Of Law Rules Of The Supreme Court May Make Rules Regulating The Practice And Procedure Procedure Of The Court.
