Rules for playing the Game

Standard Rules in playing the game Football:


1. A match consists of two 45 minutes halves with a 15-minute rest period in between.
2. Each team can have a minimum off 11 players (including 1 goalkeeper who is the only
player allowed to handle the ball within the 18 yard box) and a minimum of 7 players are
needed to constitute a match
3. Football starts with a coin toss carried out by match referees and team captains. Winning
the coin toss means your team gets to choose the initial direction of play.
4. The whole ball must cross the goal line for it to constitute as a goal.
5. Each game must include one referee and two assistant referee’s (linesmen).

Modified Rules in playing the game Football:


1. Teams must consist of no more than 5 players consisting of 4 males and 1 female. Each
team must consist of players from only within the school if not the team will be
disqualified.
2. A match consists of two 15 minutes halves with a 5 minutes rest period.
3. The winner of each game will qualify to the finals.
4. The whole ball must cross the goal line for it to constitute as a goal.
5. Each game must include one referee and two assistant referee’s (linesmen).

Minutes
On June 12th,2023, the first Physical Education and Sport meeting was called. The meeting
commenced promptly at 11:30 am and ended at 12:05 pm. During this meeting, it was agreed
that a Football competition would be conducted for the class project.
It was decided that the competition would be held at the Hope Secondary school Tarmac, the
number of minutes would be 35 mins game where fifteen (15) per half and 5minutes half time.
The number of players per team would be five (5) including the goal keeper.
The dress code for officials was decided and agreed to be black track pants with a white T-Shirt.
A contribution towards the competition was decided upon to offset snacks and refreshments,
Trophies, medals, and other miscellaneous items for the competition.
The competition was set to begin at 9:00 am promptly and end at noon on 7thth July, 2023.The
meeting was addressed by the competition directors and competition managers.

Injury report
On the 5th of July, 2023, the CSEC physical education and sport students hosted a football
competition to facilitate their class project as its mandated by the examination council.

During the competition there were few minor injuries that occurred on the tarmac while playing
the game, one of the athletes had fall and bruised his leg, which was treated by the first aid
officer, with the use of wipe containing alcohol and later applying bandage to the injury.

The first aid officer was well equipped with safety protocols and guidelines, including the first
aid kit, the officer was prepared and ready to treat all injuries that may arise in the competition.
